Hello DJSadhu and a Warm Welcome to you! That was a great first post, I totally agree with what you are saying.. When "The Secret" movie first came out I was amazed, it made so much sense and since then it has really enhanced my view on things. When I watched it I felt compelled to share it on here, but failed to mention that the movie was not free, and was blasted by some, although others were receptive and in the end, I'm glad I mentioned it. We truly attract things to ourselves, the constant rhetoric of things are so bad in the world only feeds that fear and makes it worst, the news media, the government, other religions they are all contributing to the mess we are in, hopefully people will start to open their eyes and see that these are the best times in history to be alive in, we have endless opportunities and can choose to make our lives better.

Fred Franz yelling in spanish?

i was reading the book 'apocalypse delayed' by james penton and came to the part that disucessed the crackdown that occured in the org during the early 1980's.

one of the referances made note to a talk that was recorded in which fred franz spoke to a congregation in queens, ny and yelled at them in spanish.

has this ever made it's was to the internet?

I remember, I was there , damn I wish I would have recorded it, but I was young and stupid then. It was quite a shock to see little Freddie and other "Big Wigs" show up all at once, all you could here at first was the murmuring of many voices wondering what was going to happen. Needless to say he was quite pissed!!

Disgusting comment regarding the baptism at the DC

at the service meeting the other day the "friends" were given an opportunity to discuss the district convention (portland, or, june 30-july 2).

) people baptized at that convention.

a bigger number than i remember for at least a decade.

TO ALL YOU JW LURKERS!!!! If you let your children get baptized too young, this usually means that they will be DF'd when the troublesome teenage years get here, and you will LOSE THEM, because the WTS teaches that you should not socialize and that you should shun your children. They will be left out in the cold, and you will not be there to council them when lifes problems arise, because they will feel rejected by you and will no confide in you, instead they will turn to their freinds with disastrous results. Isn't it better to allow your child to grow up and live his life, if later on he chooses to join the JW's at least it will be with a mature mind that can deal with life. IF YOU LOVE YOUR CHILDREN, DON"T LET THEM GET BAPTIZED TOO EARLY!!!, as you can see all around you in the Kingdom Halls, It doesn't keep them from anything, how many kids in your hall are now out?

Blondie, THANK YOU - for putting up with this torture for all of us!! I of course will not be attending this CRAPPY study, just couldn't stand sitting there silently while this idiocy was being considered, I don't think I could refrain myself from raising my hand and spilling the beans. So.....I'lle just stay home and enjoy my Sunday with my family, gardening or going somewhere to have some actual fun!

this site is also made up of many ex and current jw's, the difference is they all remain deeply committed to christianity and bible study, but are extremely distrustful of the watch tower orginanization and consider it to be a "pharisee" or a "false prophet" what the bible warns of.

from what i am reading they seem to be the beginning movements of a break away sect, many of them praise russell who seems to have been more spiritual and laid back and trace the demise of the movement with rutherford, who began introducing all the messed up rules they have now.

Arwen, exactly the case with me, I was on there before he was DF'd also, and found it fascinating in the beginning, it was instrumental for opening my eyes to the real "TRUTH", when I continued reading on here and doing more research into other cultures that were around before the Hebrews IT WAS ALL OVER, I rarely go to that site anymore, it's just the same old people discussing the same old things, thinking that the Borg will be readjusted and that they are the evil slave, but change is coming bla,bla,bla. They still believe in the Bible BS, I'm beyond that now so I don't see any sense in it.

The "Revelation" Book...did you HATE that thing as much as I did??

ok the first time i thought it was pretty cool how they applied every little scripture to themselves.

i sat rapt with my young children while we discussed wonderful things to come.

the second time i was like...where's my old book with all the notes in the margins, im not looking all this sh-t up again!.

This is actually a GOOD THING! While going through that garbage yet again, I believe that the faithful R&F will begin to see how absurd the claims in that book are, about the bible having foretold anything about the WTS. (I hope so anyway) And with all the info available on the Internet they might begin to research the WTS history, and that, would be the beginning of the end of the brainwashed state they are in.

Also, if the CO's thought that bookstudy attendance was bad before, wait until they start to study the Revelation book! Just the thought of it, makes me want to BARF!

Could the 'Annointed' really be 'Demonized'?

Since I no longer believe in "Satan" or his "Demons" I don't really believe they are demonized, I think all humans have the ability to be evil if they so choose, I think that some rational and generally kind people, if placed in completely different circumstances and given absolute power can become corrupted and change the way they are, when you have no one to answer to and you are holding the cards, what you do after that shows your true character. That's the reason why I really doubt the GB members in control even believe in God, I think they know it's all a sham, and are just playing the part for the Corporation's sake.

Their behaviour with the R&F goes against what true God fearing individuals would do. The fact that they place the Organization first, speaks volumes about who their TRUE GOD is, and that's POWER and MONEY! The belief in Satan began much later for the Hebrews, in the beginning they believed good and bad came from the same god. Their time in Babylon exposed them to other ideas and beliefs and this contributed to some of the stories they adopted and made their own. So no, I don't believe they are demonized.
