Number of baptisms is dropping. Interesting.
Do they publish any stats on DFs and DAs?
i've been asked that question, and since i've been out of it for years (and away from this forum for some time) i have no idea.
can someone give me the latest figures?

the jws always try to frighten their members by telling them that disobedience can open them up to demonic attack and we know this is nothing but a mind game to keep them in subjection.
however it is claimed that certain occultists are paid by resentful people to cast spells against those that they hate eg to ruin their families, businesses or make them ill or depressed.
these occultists are people co operating with demons channelling their destructive energies through black magic against fellow humans.
my previous addition to the jehovah's witness wikipedia article was removed, but it has been re-added by someone else, and worded more strongly:.
* belief that a "great crowd" of jehovah's witnesses is now living that will survive the coming battle of armageddon and have the prospect of living forever on an earthly paradise.
(revelation 7:9-17) belief that all others (non-jehovah's witnesses) on earth will be killed by jehovah at armageddon, including small children and babies.
AuldSoul:
The reason that I say it is watered down is the word "associated." It gives the impression that even friends of JWs have a claim to being christians. I'm looking to make it clear that JWs in good standing with WTB&TS are the only true christians, according to them. However, no one seems to be able to agree on just what the name of the organization is.

Also, my previous addition about JW's being the only christians was modified by someone else to water it down. I still don't think it's quite accurate:
* Belief that only persons who are associated with Jehovah's Witnesses can correctly be called true Christians.
And, I added one more:
* Belief that baptised Jehovah's Witnesses who disagree with official doctrine are to be labeled apostate, be disfellowshipped, and subsequently be shunned by all Jehovah's Witnesses, even family members.
Here's the article for those who are interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jehovah%27s_Witness
1. is the wt accurate when they say that christendom erased the name 'jehovah" out of the bible?
and is it safe to say that the wt has inserted the name back in more places than it was actually in it.
i have heard talks that in many scriptures where it should simply be lord they've just inserted"jehovah.

I've heard that WT inserted Jehovah into the NT several hundred times. I think they claim that the NT was corrupted somehow and it was up to them to correct. My question is this: if the NT was corrupted by the removal of Jehovah, what else is corrupted that we don't know about? How can we have any assurance that any of it is accurate? Ah, yes. I found the link: http://www.bible.ca/jw-YHWH.htm Does anyone have any watchtower literature relating to this issue?

5. physical cleanness: because they represent god, christians should keep their bodies and clothing clean.

5. Physical Cleanness: Because they represent God, Christians should keep their bodies and clothing clean. We should wash our hands after using the toilet, and we should wash them before eating meals or handling food. If you do not have a proper sewage disposal system, toilet wastes should be buried. ( Deuteronomy 23:12, 13 ) Keeping physically clean contributes to good health. A Christian's home should be neat and clean both inside and outside. It should stand out in the community as a good example.
after my thread on seminary education, i am doing one more about liberal clergy.
my previous thread dealt with the idea that their education seemed incompatible with their calling, and this naturally led to the possibility that they may hide an underlying skepticism from their parishioners.
in this thread i am asking why many of them present a god whose love goes beyond that of the biblical god or even the god of traditional theology.
we all know the jw view on what happens at death.
however a friend of mine lost a very young son and went to a medium.
the medium told her the name of her son without knowing anything about her or even knowing that she had a child that died.
Mediums do this through so-call cold reading. They throw things out there and the person reacts, either positively or negatively. We give off signals when we are being told things. The medium probably said something like "i'm seeing a son.." your mom probably reacted facially, or said "uh huh." The medium went further, or maybe saw your mom start to cry, and the medium asked "did something happen to your son?" Then something like "I see an 'M' name or a name like Mike or Jim."
It's a scam. Have your mom sit there completely stone-faced and not react one single bit. Then we'll see how accurate this "medium" is.
bad?
i have done research on it lately.
actually for a couple of yrs now, on and off.
What does it matter what the history of thanksgiving is? What does it mean to you and your family? It's a time to get together, enjoy some food, and be thankful for the things you have. If it means something else to someone else, how does their thinking influence Thanksgiving's meaning to you? Do you think Jehovah wouldn't want you to enjoy time with your family and be thankful for what you have?
