Just say it's your Lucifer tree. That should get rid of 'em.

Leolaia - what are you saying about the "also." Is it incorrectly translated?

Question regarding my nephew
by caz ini'm the aunty of 3 the boys i wrote about a few weeks ago who had lost their jw father to suicide.
my (16 year old) nephew has come to live with me and he has been brought up as a jw all of his life, although not baptised yet.
he hasn't made one mention of them or meetings at all since his father's death, ( 4 weeks ago) other than to tell me he was very disappointed in the lack of support shown his dad by the elders of his congregation during his lowest moments of depression and to the boys since.

How many questions on Baptism test?
by hubert ini read in a post the other day that a new convert needs to take a test to be able to be baptised a j.w., and that the test consists of 124 questions.. i'm not sure which post had this info, and it would take me a week to find it.. if this is true, though, does anyone here have the test questions that they could scan or link to this post?.
now, i know this could end up as a funny post, so if you want to ad-lib, that's fine with me, i can enjoy a good laugh.. however, i hope someone really does post the real test, so i can "study up" for my baptism.
(kidding, of course).

response to JW guy (another one from that MSN thread...)
by doogie infreewilly just posted some entertaining shtuff from a new friend he made on that msn jw thread.
i posted on there too and new friends are just coming out of the woodwork!
it seems like everyday there's another handful of messages from these jw defenders (some of them are unbelievably mean too!).

Auld,
I've wondered the same thing. I have a JW friend who will eat his steak medium or medium rare. There's plenty of blood on that steak...

I need help refuting a very common and stupid jw argument
by Check_Your_Premises in"if you participate in activity x it will leave less time for spiritual activities"
this i think is a false "or" type of fallacy.
as if our choices are a matter of choosing between non-spiritual or spiritual activities exclusively.

I would say something like this: "Why would god give you talents if he didn't want you to use them? Maybe getting an education will allow you to interact with and encounter people who you wouldn't have otherwise." -
