I worked at Farmer John for a while while I was going to college. The slaughter house or the process did not bother me at all. The smell of pork is what bothered me. I did not eat pork for about four years not cause of how they where killed but i could not stand the smell.

It is official. I am an elder now!

ootb: Plese be carfeul, your family may become more emotionally invested now that you are an elder and that "escape" may be harder. Remenber, there is more gossip and rumors is an elder leaves vs. a lazy publisher. Best wished on your course.

Were You Ever Counseled Because Of What You Wore (or didn't)?

I got lectured twice, once for waering a sport coat and not a suit to give a talk and for wearing a "loud" tie on stage. BIg f-ing deal. I was at meeting and all they cared about was what i was wearing. I also got spoken to once that my hair was too-short. I expalined to the Elder that i had a cut on my head and hand to shave my head in order to apply medicine. He didn't care. Typical a**holes.

What's the lowest meeting attendance you've ever seen?
by Open mind ini'm talking about congos with at least 40-50 publishers in the file.
we had a nearby congo that supposedly had 60-65 publishers and their attendance on one tms/sm night hit an all-time low of 14. they had a ton of elderly/infirm.
they finally merged and now everybody's happy about the "increase".

2 people! Myself and some guy that was DF. We where at the KH for bookstudy and i was conducting. I said opening and closing prayer, read all the pharagrahs, and answered the quetions. It was so funny but I felt i saw awesome!!!!!!!! Later that night i got drunk with the guy's son!!!!!

which i don't care for, but since my family is stuck in this cult, i guess i can use the new position to help them see that the holy spirit has nothing to do with me being an elder.

I was an MS forever and asked to be an elder i beleive three times and said no each time. I used to come up with some BS. Any ways i quit on the WTS a long time ago and the holy spirit never told anybody to remove me as an MS. It appears your current habits are no different from many elders i currently know.

2 JW just came to my office!!!!
by thepackage ini work in a pretty large office building with several dubs ( i got a few of them jobs, not cause they where dubs but smart people), anyways, it's pretty obvious that i no longer go to meetings since i have a beard right now.
2 sisters came by my office and asked how i was doing and invited me to the memorial and a gathering after at one of their houses.
i thanked them for the invite and told them id pass since i already had plans for saturday.

It is sad when nice people are controlled by this cult. One of the sisters is really nice and smart, I always tried to help her get promoted but she would say “no thanks” cause it would take time away from Jehovah. Here in my office building there are about 20 JW that I know of. Most of them are nice people in general. This one sister in particular is awesome person but is so controlled by the cult. In some ways she is the last person that need to know this religion is a cult cause she would be crushed since her whole life was wasted.

I thanked them for the invite and told them I’d pass since I already had plans for Saturday. They are really nice people but both are “super dubs” all they talk about Jehovah this Jehovah that. They where pretty nervous to approach me but I guess they are doing what they feel is right. Funny thing is, since I have a pretty high management position here at my job, all the dubs used to come to me for favors or recommendations but, that’s ended now not cause I will not do it but they no longer approach me cause I don’t go to meetings.

Hello, I'm new...

i was raised in "the truth" and it was only recently that i began to listen to a close friend of mine as he pointed out the secrets and lies that is the watchtower society and governing body.
even though he was informing me for almost a year, he never gave up on me.

i hate the feeling that I'm constantly being controlled...
by cognac inevery freaken thing i do is under a constant microscope... i feel like i'm constantly being judged and questioned and interrogated or "encouraged" to live my entire freaken life in a way that i don't want to.
i can't even have an opinion they don't like.
i feel like i'm suffocating and can't breath sometimes... why the hell can't i just simply live a peaceful life???

How many of the 144K anointed were in your congregation
by MOG ingrowing up in the spanish congregation in chicago - i knew 4-5 of this supposed anointed.
all of them no longer are jw, 2-3 of them started their own religionthe other 2 was a mother and son.
they never went house to house, never raised their hands in meetings, never went to the book study we held is our own private homes.

There was one Sister in my old hall who claimed to be of the annointed. Funny thing about her, her husband molested a couple of kids in the hall and none of her children talked to her.
