I didn't know that the case was settled. Could someone point to the thread that explains what the outcome was. Thanks!

Freedom is spelled Wheelchair
by Lady Lee injust before i moved into my little apartment my scooter died.
it was an old scooter and the wires were so brittle that they kept shorting out.
when they tried to put a new motherborad into it the chair fried the new board.

That's great news!

Wow! That's the pits. Having your mother turn dub as your age is too much. Remember it won't be long until you can make your own decisions. Hang in there.

'Gay weddings' are legal in the UK from today. How do you feel about it?
by nicolaou inhundreds of gay couples are preparing to form civil partnerships in the coming weeks as the law changes after decades of campaigning.
at least 1,200 ceremonies are confirmed as being scheduled already and registrars are preparing for the first ceremonies, with couples permitted to register from monday morning.
so how do you feel about it?

They're really civil unions, not marriages, so as not to offend the conservatives too much.
Once again, the UK is showing itself to be more civilized than the US. I think it's great that they're letting gays wed, and I look forward to the day when all US citizens will likewise be given equal rights.
Don't hold your breath. They're a lot of republicans in the US. If there's anything republicans can't stand it's someone different from them.

Your family still thinks you believe, only you wont admit it to them.
by free2beme inmy spouses grandfather is in the hospital and only has a couple days left to live.
last night we were there and my in-laws decided this would be a good time to preach to the their fleshly relatives, as they are the only ones in the family that are witnesses.
my father-in-law has not been active in the witnesses, just attends meetings, so his ability to explain their faith is a little on the weak side.

I would bet though, if your relatives were put to a lie detector and asked about your beliefs, a lot think you still believe the faith ... no matter where your life went from your exit.
No doubt in my mind that my relatives think I still believe that crap.

It Seems That My Children Are Not Trained
by Gary1914 ini just returned home from the kingdom hall.
i am an elder.. after the meeting all the elders were called to the back room.
i thought this was an impromptu elders' meeting.

I used to bring coloring books and crayons to the Hall for the kids and that kept them quiet. But the PO said this was no good because the kids should be "clutching" (his word) their Bibles and starring at the speaker.
That makes my blood boil. Even coloring books are a sin.

Did You Know A Lot Of Witnesses That Were A "Little Fruit Loops"?
by minimus ini did, i was thinking of how many jws are either a little weird, a bit eccentric or even borderline crazy!
we had one man in our hall that used to love giving people he liked duck eggs.
he'd try to get you to eat them before meetings for field service.

Then there was Bergalot, which means in German mountain echo. We called her talkalot behind her back. She had to be the most self-centered person I've ever known. One CO said that after they made her they threw away the pattern. The CO's only had to put up with her one or two weeks a year. Since mrs. kessel was a widow, we had to give her rides to and from the meetings. Nobody else could stand her. One of the elders built a house near where she lived, so they started giving her rides. That lasted about two weeks and then we had to do it again. The elder and his family couldn't put up with her. We lived in northern Montana and during the winter we'd have to sit in the cold car after the meeting while she chattered away. Mrs. kessel never once said, "We have to go now, the kids have to get up for school tomorrow." Nope, we had to sit there until Bergalot was done talking. It seemed like forever. Mrs. kessel took her out in service several times a week. Bergalot would chatter away and mrs. kessel would say uhuh, from time to time. Bergalot would call mrs. kessel several times a day and mrs. kessel would listen to her for an hour or more saying uhuh, uhuh.
It never occured to me until lately that mrs. kessel must have enjoyed Bergalot's company. Apparently, she could just space out while Bergalot talked. Therapy, I guess.
