That kind of result would indeed be much greater than what you expect from chance alone. In all seriousness, why not go after the $1,000,000 prize offered at www.randi.org for being able to perform a feat like this under controlled conditions? Again, in all seriousness, I could perform a test with you from here in Rhode Island by placing some object in a specific location, and having someone view it remotely. If an ability like this exists, I would be delighted to see it. Really.

Anybody else had visions?
by philo inwhen i was separating from my wife and leaving the jws, i had some visions.
for some strange reason, i decided not to eat for a day, then when i found my thinking clearer and my emotions mellower, i fasted for another two days.
so after the third day, i was walking down our street and i saw the houses burning after me, i felt this was an affirmation that marriage was decay and destruction, or wasteage.

The Jehovah's Witness Meal Delivery Program
by kents_ghost inthe jehovah's witness meal delivery program.
jehovah's witnesses want to receive government funds in order to launch a free meal delivery service to help out the poor and disabled.
jehovah's witnesses will go door to door delivering meals, preparing the food, and also helping the disabled out with various household chores and errands.

The above rebuke comes from a witness who himself openly disagrees with the organization, and regularly associates with us "vile apostates" through his psudonym.

Some Witnesses Enjoy Witchcraft!
by metatron ini guess i've just been naive.. i was surprized to find that some 'super loyal'.
witnesses i know have been practising witchcraft.. of course, they'd never call it that - it seems that.
when various illnesses arise you get out an assortment.

A Few Questions
by Amelia inhi, i've been lurking awhile and now i need some advice/answers to a couple of questions:.
one of my co-workers is a jehovah's witness, and we have become pretty good "at work friends.
" she doesn't push anything on anyone at work, but i knew that since we were getting to know each other pretty well there would probably come a time when she would "make her move" with the literature and whatnot.

Amelia,
Your questions about what would happen with a resurrection are quite logical, and point out how simple common sense shows that many of their beliefs just don't hold water. There is nothing to explain how this would work – it is just a fantasy.
I think that you don't even have to go as far as telling her that you don't accept the teachings in this case. Just tell her something like "thank you for your concern and for thinking of me in this difficult time.” Then, don't mention the pamphlet. Chances are, she did want to express her condolences, but most witnesses don't know how to do that without introducing a "sales pitch" as well. It is often at times of crisis, such as the death of a loved one, that the organization is able to make inroads with someone. That is why the JW leadership encourages its members to speak with people at these times. Still, that does not mean she was not honestly saddened by your loss, so accept her gesture it in that spirit and ignore the rest.

Here to vent !!!!!!!!!!!
by jurs inhello to anyone who cares,.
i am in the fowlest of moods.

Not that it makes your situation at school any easier, but at least this "sister" is forced to perform her shunning in the open, in full view of the rest of the world, and can't get away with it with just you to see it. She - not you - will continue to look like a jerk in the eyes of the other students. When you say hello to her and act friendly (as you should), and she responds by pretending she does not hear or see you, what would any reasonable person think? They would rightly conclude that the organization's policies are absurd. And when they learn that your "offense" was simply choosing not to be a member any longer, she will appear even more out of line.

Would God really bother with such insignificance ?
by Simon inthere is a program on here at the moment called 'space' and last week was about the sheer number of stars.
for each grain of sand on every beach on the planet there are millions or billions of stars.. if there was a god, that would make us smaller than something minescule sat on an atom.
and yet they claim that he 'sent his firstborn son to die for us' (who incidentally created all this?)..

Let's take it further - if God did happen to pay some attention to this tiny dust mote, would he get his knickers all in a twist if one of its 6 Billion inhabitants wanted to grow a beard? Or, might he have more important things to worry about, like keeping Plank's constant.
