if you read my post's you may have noticed i'm not the best at spelling.. i think i could be dyslexic, my father and one of my sisters are, and i tend to make the same mistakes.. also i havent had the need to do much writing since i left school so i'm out of practise.. i believe i'm getting in better, at least i hope so .. anyway the point is this.i once had a discusson with a brother about spelling.he believed there was a correct absolute standard for spelling words, which was the oxford dictionary.. the way it was spelt there is the way to spell it.. if they changed the spelling you should change.. but i feel things like spelling are not absolute.of course people need to understand what we write.but i feel small changes to words to make them fit more inline with how we say them would be benifical.. what is the point of having a word spelt a different way to how it is said?.
but do you judge poster's intelligence on their spelling?.
i guess we mostly do.. how important to you is the way people spell?
The quality of someone's spelling contributes significantly to the overall impression you get of them from reading their posts. If someone's native language is other than English, spelling and grammar errors are quite understandable. If I am not mistaken, the beloved Fred Hall once admitted that he is not a native English speaker. But if the posts of a native English speaker are filled with errors, it not only detracts from what they are trying to say but also diminishes their overall credibility.
yes this has been done before... but there are lots of new posters soooooo... what's your sign?
do you know your whole chart?
i do astrology stuff and tarot yada yada, so if ya want i can do your whole chart for you and stuff, or compatibility charts too, but i need exact time of birth.
Here is the results for the date of birth given in your post. Do you think it is true?
[quote] Some of your aspirations tend to be pretty unrealistic. At times you are extroverted, affable, sociable, while at other times you are introverted, wary and reserved. You have found it unwise to be too frank in revealing yourself to others. You pride yourself on being an independent thinker and do not accept others' opinions without satisfactory proof. You prefer a certain amount of change and variety, and become dissatisfied when hemmed in by restrictions and limitations. At times you have serious doubts as to whether you have made the right decision or done the right thing. Disciplined and controlled on the outside, you tend to be worrisome and insecure on the inside.
Your sexual adjustment has presented some problems for you. While you have some personality weaknesses, you are generally able to compensate for them. You have a great deal of unused capacity which you have not turned to your advantage. You have a tendency to be critical of yourself. You have a strong need for other people to like you and for them to admire you.
despite the failings of many who claim to follow the bible and believe it, this gives no excuse to dismiss it's contents.
thru the centuries it has proved reliable and remains the word of god despite all else.
BTW, clash - one "rebuts" an argument.

Dedalus,
I find the most common offense on this board is the use of "your" rather than "you're" when meaning "you are"
jehovah long ago confidently stated that he was going to rock the very heavens and the earth into oblivion.
although not going into detail exactly how he proposes to shake the nations up, it goes without saying that the world stands posed to experience a catastrophe beyond human comprehension.. it has now been six months since the so-called 9-11 disaster.
and while most people have been quick to get back to business as usual in their little lives, the events of 9-11 have set off a chain reaction of official policy revision that has potentially far-reaching consequences.
I don't want you to shut up Robert. Feel free to post your feelings and thoughts as much as you want.
But I do have a question for you; why tell us all this? You make it clear that you view all "apostates" as some monolithic group that will very soon get its well-served comeuppance from an angry God, and no one here could ever say that they weren’t warned when that dark day comes. Still, knowing we are all doomed, how does it benefit you to keep telling us all this?
i have been asked to go live on channell 20 rogers t.v tomorrow night.

any comments on the sub-cult of having to shake hands in the congregation?
I would think that it would be even worse if they FAILED to wipe their hand on their leg first, when necessary.

does any one have the link for wt used cars?
somebody posted the link where they sell the old co cars.
i am looking for the link and can't find it.. rejoice in the healing and not in the pain.. rejoice in the challenge overcome and not in the past hurts.. rejoice in the present - full of love and joy.. rejoice in the future for it is filled with new horizons yet to be explored.
Perhaps I am in the minority on this, but the car sales business doesn't bother me at all. After all, they have to do something with them, and this seems like a prudent way to go.
There is plenty of legitimate issues to fault the WBTS about, but leasing cars for their field people and selling them afterward is hardly a cause for outcry. The jesus-witness page indignantly refers to these as "luxury" cars, as though the COs are traveling about in chauffer-driven Bentleys. These are Buicks for crying out loud. Boring four-door cars that they lease, use, and then sell. Just like hundreds of other companies do.
Getting on the Society's case about such insignificant (and easily justified) activities simply serves to detract from their many serious wrongdoings.

easter, what's the real truth: previously, and as found in most encyclopedias, most scholars took the view of "the venerable bede" who in 8th century england speculated that the name easter may have come from the name for the anglo-saxon goddess eastre.
but closer research shows several other possibilities.
one is that the name more likely came from the latin for "white week" that spring week when people wore white to be baptized as christians.
I am so confused.
Isn't Easter the time when Jesus comes out from the tomb and checks to see if he can see his shadow?
