  so, i looked at my cell phone today, and i had a voicemail from my mother.. i called my voicemail and listened to it:.

  I am sorry for the pain you are feeling. I don't know exactly how you feel becuase fortunately my parents left the org with me and my family. But I will tell you from a mothers stand point, there is nothing that my son could do that could take away my love from him. Sure, he might disappoint me and I might be grieved at decisions he makes but he is still mine and that is enough.

  I know that your mom is still entrenched in that organization but you might be her only opportunity to get out. The fact that she called even though you are D'aed might mean she is not letting the Watchtower completely control her.

  Express to her your love for her and even if she doesn't respond at least you've done all that you could to keep a relationship with her. Maybe eventually she will come around. You seem like a really great guy and she will be able to see though all the superficial stuff and see what is behind all the tatoos, earings and contacts.

  Did You Ever "Tell Off" An Elder or Circuit Overseer?

  i know of very few that would "dare" tell off a co but elders were different.

  having been an elder for many years, it was very easy to go back and forth with a fellow elder and basically tell him he was dumb.

  I have had a couple of runins with elders.

  There was a time when I really would have liked to have it out with a CO's wife. About 10 years ago, while I was quite poor, I gave a donation to the CO's wife. She very sweetly told me, "Thank you, I will buy my horse something with this." I didn't say anything but that was the last donation I ever gave to a CO.

  Thanks for the link. Though, my bite isn't nearly as bad as those, there do seem to be some similarities in appearance. I guess I should get it checked. A little antibiotics never hurt anyone.

  Thank you Blondie and exwitless. I think that tomorrow I will call and make an appointment. I just really really hate going to the doctor but I guess that an appointment is better than a hospital visit.

  Would this offend you, if the government made this policy

  if the government had this policy .... given that 100% of the terrorist who did 9/11 were arab, and most terrorist are arab.

  we as a government will racially profile the arab population and visitors to our country.

  spending more time inspecting them, checking them out, and making sure that they are singled out and watched more then any other race.. would this offend you?.

  I don't really like getting into political discussions because I really don't have any hard rules that I think work or that I agree wtih. But, I guess I have already said something. So, I will put another two cents in.

  I am not crazy, at all, about the Muslim religion. I think that it is just another cultish place that treats women badly and they think that they are the only ones who are right. So, similar to JW's. The extremists of their religion also seem to be bent on killing other human beings in acts of terrorism.

  However, Americans are not racially profiled as killers but I think that they, as a nation, commited one of the biggest acts of terrorism ever when they dropped the H-bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Sure there was a world war going on and it certainly ended it but when they dropped those bombs it wasn't on a military compound it was on women, children and people that could in no way prepare or defend themselves. I am not anti American, I am one but living with this in our past is surely not something that I am proud of. Maybe there are some Muslims that agree with that sentiment as well. Hopefully there are those that are embarrassed by the actions of people in their religion.

  Do I believe in racial profiling, yes, on who, humans in general. We are certainly a violent lot. How sad that any race comes to the conclusion that the solution to a problem is to blow each other up.

  IP-SEC: I am glad that you are happy there. I think that Louisiana would be a really fun place to live. The culture there is really neat. Do you like boudin? I think I could actually live on that and beer. Have you tried Blackened Voodoo? Really wonderful beer.

  Testing out my new Digital Camera...

  played hookey from work for a little while yesterday, went to a local park to take photos.. it's a nikon coolpix l3, and so far, i'm pleasantly surprised!

  the price wasn't bad, and the pictures don't disappoint.. i hope you all enjoy..... .

  i am so angry right now.

  my father worked his butt off for years at his job and for the wbts.. in the 60's he was a painter and use to bathe in benzine to clean him self off.

  this was before anyone new this was a cancer causing chemical.. he worked for years at assemblys, and as an elder etc.. he realized the foolishness of 1975 and started saving big time leaving my mother a nice savings account plus a huge retirement fund.. he developed kidney cancer at age 60 due to the benzine and survived.
