You mentioned in your post that you "talked to one of my "friends" who is still a witness and I realized that there are a lot of people who would be very hurt if I got DFed"....please remember that these people more than are not your friends, and if and when you are DFed, they won't even blink an eye at you, much less talk to you anymore, sad? yes, but very true. Reality, you'll see it more clear once your out of the corporation.

i had decided to come clean and just tell them that i don't believe in this anymore.

Very rich JW in the KH that I used to go to,him and wifey always drive up in a new year model Suburban, his son always pulls up in a Hummer, his daughter drives an Escalade with yes, you guessed it! 26 inch shoes, chromed to the max! They never come together,each in their own little parade. Snobbiest bunch you'd ever meet, right down to the gold lined pages of their bibles.

Were you ever scared of going to prison as a JW?...
by Hecklerboy ini remember growing up a jw and always being told that someday the goverment would turn on us and throw us in prison.. i was watching a documentary on national geographic about san quinton prison and it brought back old memories of those fears.. i remember thinking how scared i would be if i had to go to prison and what i could do to protect myself.
i would think of how i could just stay in my cell all the time so no one could hurt me.
especially after seeing stories on the news about riots and rapes and people getting stabbed.. leave it to the jw's to make a kid worry about going to prison.

i knew a brother who had a nick name, and when he became a witness, he didn't want to be called by his nickname anymore....he was brother x from now on.
or just use his real name.. imagine going to your hall, and calling someone by his nickname instead.. i'm sure the eldrers would want to talk to you at the end of the meeting.

One part of the bible that comes to mind is Leviticus 15:16-18.."16 Now in case a man has an emission of semen go out from him, he must bathe all his flesh in water and be unclean until evening. 17 And any garment and any skin upon which the emission of semen gets to be must be washed with water and be unclean until evening. 18 As for a woman with whom a man may lie down with an emission of semen, they must bathe with water and be unclean until evening"....we would chuckle at this when we were teens, especially when my brother had the biblle reading one friday night and this was part of the reading, lol.

One of my brothers once won the City Bowling Championship, we didn't brag on him, my other two brothers and I kicked his ass because he was bragging too much, besides, who wants to hear about a JW bowling champ, lol....btw , we also put sugar in the gas tank of his motorcycle.

Why Most Christians Can And Do Celebrate Birthdays
by wanda inon another thread they were talking about the lack of joy and mental health problems coming from jw kids not being allowed to participate at class dances, sports and so forth.
the lack of the joyfulness of birthdays is another factor.
why not leave some copies of this in your kingdom halls and assemblies if you still attend.

But now since he's been DA'd, I've noticed that they all have become closer to him, talking to him more, doing things together. My question is ..has anyone ever noticed your family getting closer after one or more have been DA'd?

When I was associated with the witlesses, depression was widespread, it was so bad that the women were even sharing their prescription paxil,zoloft, etc....with the other women in the hall who were "depressed", isn't this illegal?
