My favorite great aunt passed earlier this year at the age of 106, surely she is missed. Even in her last days here on earth, she kept a positive spirit, assuring all of us death was just another journey. She told us she was just going into the second chapter of her "life". Well wherever you are aunty, have a gooood time eh!

How "old" is the oldest person who lived in your family?
by JH ini was just wondering how old can a person live.
my grandmother lived up to 97, almost 98. .
those born in 1914 are 92 years old and some are still alive.. i guess that no one lived over 120 years since the flood.. how "old" is the oldest person who lived in your family?

Don't Like Your Avatar, Don't Like You!
by bigmouth insome time ago i attracted some really agressive responses that surprised me because i had no intention of offending so i had to learn a lot about how to word things on this forum, smiley faces etc so others would know i was pulling their leg, but i oftened wondered if a posters nickname or avatar puts you off instantly??
you know, first impressions.
i would think someone like satanus or mouthy would be intimidating but miss peaches was as nice as pie and this thinking might reflect how i would reply.

My first impression of "John Doe" after seeing his avatar was.... "hey look everybody, it's Jethro from the 'Beverly Hillbillies' on steroids!" but after reading a couple of his posts, my impression is..... "hey look everybody, it's Jethro from the 'Beverly Hillbillies' on steroids!"...lol

Wish I could be there with you all, it would definitely be an experience. Rather than sittin here at the comp, creating topics about or complaining about the JW's on forums like this, I've really wanted to do something physical, something that makes an impact and hopefully make unsuspecting ones realize how bad this cult can screw up their lives. But until then I'll just sit here and create topics and complain. lol

Nobody really takes her seriously anymore, thats why she isn't in the mainstream media anymore. And to top it off she isn't aging gracefully, kinda ugly even by my standards, lol!

Real meaning of Memorial Day (US)
by joe_black intraditional observance of u.s. memorial day has diminished over the years.
many americans nowadays have forgotten the meaning and traditions of memorial day.
at many cemeteries, the graves of the fallen are increasingly ignored, neglected.

Myself being suppressed for so many years in this cult, never really had the opportunity to lay a wreath at many of my relatives of the past's gravesites. I Never considered the sacrifice they made for myself and all who live in this great country. But since I left this inconsiderate cult, I always phone my aunt(Lost her husband, my uncle in vietnam) on Memorial day when I'm overseas in Hong Kong, or go see ones who have lost loved ones when I'm in the states.....As for billbarton's comment above, I don't think he understood what you meant by your post. Some of us don't believe what the "bible" says anymore billbarton. It could be a fairytale for all we know. What is important is that now that we're not suppressed by this destructive cult anymore we now have the opportunity to pay the proper respect to our fallen. Please do.

I knew it was just a matter of time before the JW's went MLM. The structure has been in place for years, only the ones at the top make all the $$$$ and the poor poor magazine distributors make squat!

Did your KH have a minimum skirt length, max heel height,
by White Waves inor other stupid rules for women?
ours were contingent on the spirituality of the sister and, if she was married or an elder's wife, etc.
then, she got more leeway.

The "building with no windows" that I attended was a more liberal ordnung. No real policy on stuff like skirt length, heels, etc..up to your own concience. But this liberalism led to quite a few fashion shows that I attended, whewww! and the younger elders wives wore the more revealing clothes. Older elders wives looked more like Aunt Bee from "the Andy Griffith Show", lol.
