Why Is This New Batch of Governing Body Members So Stupid?

well there are lots of reason for sure, denial, delusion, wishful thinking, ego maniac, infantile understanding of ancient writings, satanophobia, xenophobia, out of touch with reality, limited choices scrapping the bottom of the barrel,and many more.. listen to this ted talk and see if you can pick out something that helps explain why these guys are such ass holes:.

I think the reason why GB 2.0 seems so stupid compared to the prior GB is that the prior members of the GB were brought up in an organization that gave some leeway to those in the organization to form their own opinions and discuss them. Those that joined JWs after disfellowshipping and other changes were instituted that restricted free thinking have been severely mentally handicapped. We're seeing the result of this now.

GB 2.0 is not college educated and has not been able to freely discuss doctrine nor think for themselves their entire JW life. This obviously has a profound effect on their mental capacity. I know that since waking up I have also noticed how my thinking ability was handicapped and not just in all things JW.

Do you want to know what killed my trust in the organization? The repeated misquotes and quotes taken out of context in order to support their doctrine. I trusted every article that they wrote. I trusted every quote as showing that others too supported our position and didn't bother to look up the quotes. Why should I? This is Jehovah's organization. They wouldn't lie or be deceptive.

It was only once I was helping someone else study to become one of Jehovah's Witnesses and he looked up the quotes and brought them to my attention that I started looking up other quotes in the same book and in other publications. It's clear once you research the society's own publications using just their publications and the original sources they quote from that, instead of being freed from bondage, we have been held captive by a corrupt organization. Say what you will about Ray Franz and others, but after I realized I had been deceived I couldn't fathom why and how these men that were supposed to be shepherds could do such a thing. Ray's book shined a light on the inner-workings of the organization that the R&F don't get to see. I now feel sorry for those that are still being held captive, including the GB who believe that they are God's sole channel.

I've heard this "final push" message as well as rumors from other JWs. I don't remember whether I was awake or not when I heard it, but I do remember rolling my eyes.

Comparing JWs to Jews

some have asked how my views and convictions have changed over the past 15 years or so after leaving the watchtower behind to return to my familys roots and embrace judaism.

the best way to explain things is to allow both the religion of the watchtower and my life as a jew today to stand side-by-side for comparison.

while i cant guarantee this will help prove to others that the jehovahs witnesses are truly a crazy religious group, i am sure it will prove to most that jews probably are, and are quite aware of it.

Of course they mean elders. That way if they cannot mislead you into completely believing all the BS then they can "mark" you and even convene a JC if necessary.

humanity doesn't need to continue believing in hocus pocus pie in the sky religious hogwash and pipe dreams to have hope of everlasting life.

nor is it necessary to find the fountain of youth or turn off the aging process.. it's only a matter of time until science achieves it.

maybe not decades away, maybe not even centuries, but eventually..... ....mankind will achieve eternal life through a transplant of the human brain into a future highly advanced robotic body.. already the scientific fundmentals for it exist.

Before they admit it, they would have to believe it. They do not. One thing is certain for JW and that is the 144,000 is a smaller number than great crowd (no man was able to number.).JW basis is for doctrine is that 144,000 is a definite number.

I think that the GB could eventually change the teaching and say that the 144,000 is symbolic and still keep the 2 classes. The 144,000 would just be a significantly smaller number than the great crowd. But they don't have to make any changes in the doctrine until around 2034.

i saw an instagram post showing a short clip of a talk being given in one of our southern states.

the talk clip showed speaker making the statement, "jehovah doesn't want anyone to know satans real name, jehovah hates satan so much, he doesn't even want his name mentioned" .

You're right Dedorio, JWs have been waiting 140 years for Armageddon and they will forever be there waiting.

on the other hand jw are growing STRONGER, BIGGER IN NUMBERS,
HAPPIER, JOYFUL, STRESS FREE, in every country, tongue, and nation on all four corners of the planet earth!

1-2% growth in the last several years is not indicative of major growth. Many countries, like Australia, actually have decreases. You should check your facts. The yearbook easily shows how little growth there is.

Between this site and others enough money was raised for a nice little billboard that is going up in Texas during a convention that will expose the pedophile problem to many of those attending. I'd say that is some power.

No education. Not just to avoid critical thinking

i was listening to my brother in law talk about his job this week.

he had a stable job for a long time.

it was not without problems but it was there.

It also helps to create that barrier that furthers indoctrination.

The difference in language is something that I struggle with too. Many of those that I work and sometimes hang out with (college educated people) feel the need to curse like sailors at times. I still struggle with accepting expletives as part of normal language and using them myself. When I'm reading something online to my wife, I routinely change curse words to something less vulgar even though I know she doesn't have a problem with the curse words. I can see how this serves to keep us separate, create a barrier between us and non-JWs, and gives us a superiority complex.

Interestingly, an elder in my hall was assigned overseas for many years and sh*t was used locally as the non-vulgar word, but caca or poop were seen as vulgar. He had to get used to using sh*t in everyday language.

he has inadvertently moved the timing of the beginning of the last days to the future.

this kind of scriptural error is the direct result of superficial bible reading.

according to luke 21, first comes the persecution then the wars, earthquakes, food shortages, fearful sights etc.
