Respect your Elders - they just moved up a class!
by unclebruce ini just found this article from fellow adelaidite b kotwall.
elders now are "glorious ones"
in the past the watchtower society (wts) claimed that the "glorious ones" in 2 peter 2:10-12 and jude 8 are of the "anointed" or "144,000" or "remnant" of such.

"I whole heartedly approve of tats myself, It means you don't have to wait for them to open their mouths to figure out who the morans(sic) are." Unknown
I'm waiting for the endless parade of chicks with Tramp Stamps to put on a few years and/or kids. Stretch marks should really improve those upper ass tats.

Clipless pedals, anyone?
by onintwo inor..alternative subject title, "god, that pavement's hard!"..
just bought a new road bike.
never rode clipless pedals before.

Hate clipless but maybe it's just that I'm not "serious" enough. Rather ride stationary that ride in traffic; too much stress.

What Things Irritated You While A Witness?
by minimus ini used to hate it when i'd listen to brother blow give his long winded comment about how we're all supposed to do this or that----and he was barely considered a witness......we had a few elders, and especially the po who would go overtime just because they could.
the po's bookstudy always went overtime.
45 minutes into the meeting he was still on paragraph 3. and he would read every scripture including the ones quoted!!!

There have been elders who have used their position to get free meals because their WIFE was sick so they had an ORGANIZED schedule to bring meals to them every day!<< Forgot about that with the cancer guy. The explanation is that it leaves him more time for "duties." What about our freaking duties?

Did U Know A Lot Of "Cuckoo" JWs???
by minimus ini knew a number of elder's wives that were nuts.
one in particular used to talk to herself regularly.

There are about a half dozen mentally retarded dubs in a local congo and they are constantly shooed out of the big hall by the MSs to sit in the crying room.
The real lunatics are the super-dubs. I honestly expect that one day one or more will decide to start an Armageddon seeing how they orgasm at the very thought of death.

The PO whose wife was dying of cancer and proceeded to volunteer for MORE Dub Duties and recruit Sisters to be with his wife "so she wouldn't be alone at the end" rather than spend time with her.
Same guy has 4 kids, all D'effed so they couldn't be with Mom.
Course he was the most "spiritual" in the eyes of the other Dubs, I thought he was a monster.

Witness relief efforts in Katrina area... this surprised me
by AK - Jeff insome who may have seen my thread on reanimation of my friendship with my cousin who has been shunning me, know that i met with him.
we had a long discussion, esp.
one point he made was that some from his congregation went down recently to help rebuild some homes.

Remember the opportunity cost for the Bros. being there as well. First, anyone with any Const. experience is earning $30+ per hour (and some Bros. are VERY good tradesmen)
This means they are losing income from their jobs at home AND are giving up the opportunity to earn big FEMA bucks. They aren't even covered by Worker's Comp. (they are but it's a big secret and are discouraged from making claims) when working for the Org.
I was planning to have a look around GulfPort this week end, I'll check this out but I would be very surprised if it was anything other than a rumor or a one shot deal with a non-baptized Publisher or something.

I call BS on this (or at least the major part)
We repaired over 700 houses after Horrorcane Ivan in 2004/5. During the initial efforts to sort out what needed to be done, SOME brothers assisted worldly people in cutting trees etc. BUT ONLY IF THEY WERE NEXT TO JW HOUSES.
Not one worldly person had a roof put on or dry-wall hung by Dubs.
The worldlies who lived near the Halls were welcome to have lunch at the soup kitchens, take a dump in the porto-pots (no water) etc. but that was about it.
When I went to help out in LA/AL after Katrina I saw no signs that plans were being made to help worldlies other than what I described above. It would reflect a tremendous doctrine change to ask Bros to come from all over, live in squalor just to fix an Athiest's roof for free. I wouldn't do it.
