Why would an Organization seperate from the world and directed by the holy spirit need to associate itself with another organization they themselves marked as the "beast with seven heads and 10 horns" from Revelations?
Wouldn't that be like asking advice directly from Satan or am I missing something here?

i got news of this from the jw grape vine today that at the meeting on thursday(yesterday) there was a letter read to all the congregations from the society.
for the first time the society says in the letter to prepare for great tribulation and to have plenty of emergency supplies in case of a disaster.
this has shaken the up the jws it seems.

It's more of a cost issue than anything else.
Cheaper to build, heat, cool, and remember that it's easier for the ameteur workers to raise a pre-fab wall than it is to frame out and hang windows as well.

it's like reading something that teaches you how not to make a logical argument.
This is what has always surprised me about them manufacturing their Legal Dept. out of loyal Dubz.
LOgic (obviously) is the most important part of manufacturing a legal argument, and in many cases it is impossible to learn to become "logical".
No offense, but believing this stuff automaticcaly disqualifies you from being "logical", although it really amuses me when they use phrases like "a reasonable person would accept" or the like to make the reader believe that the problem lies not with the material but with the reader.
Their guilt building efforts are designed to wipe any logical vestiges right out of the Dub.

i've been a member of the site for a month, but have been reading the posts for a lot longer, however this is my first post.
i was raised a j-dub by my mother (my father wasn't religious) with my sister and brother.
i was pretty much convinced by my dub friends, bible study conductor, and mother that i should get baptized when i was 15 and decided to go for it.
I realize it might seem tempting to live a lie so you can speak with your Mom again, but ask yourself who has the problem here?
You already realize it's nothing but BS yet you are willing to associate with them and even involve your wife.
They, solely because some guys in NY need to keep up the numbers, are willing to give up all contact with you.
What happens when you are still "weak" and a "bad association" after you have spent a year of 5 meetings per week, conventions, hall cleaning, yard work and studies trying to get re-instated (and it will take a year no matter what the Elders say). Will you be willing to do even more and neglect your family even more to lose that title just so that these folks say it's "OK" that your Mom speaks with you again?
