Anyone want to bet how long the CO who was quoted as having witnessed child abuse in the Organization lasted?
I'll bet he got DF'ed for "division"
barabara anderson says:.
barry was out of town and it took three senior writers to put enough pressure on barr, as next in command, to keep the factory press room from capitulating to ted jaracz's orders not to print the april 8th 1992 awake!, which contained material jaracz did not support, although he was out of line by making such a demand.
the job assignment of each governing body member was clearly delineated and writing department editorial decisions were not jaracz's business, just like the decisions of the service department, under jaracz's command, were not the affair of barry, barr or klein.

comments you will not hear at the 09-17-06 wt study (august 1, 2006, pages 26-29)(be happy).
(1 timothy 2:5) for there is one god, and one mediator between god and men, a man, christ jesus?.
despite his busy schedule, paul was always eager to do more in jehovah?s service.. notice how using an ot example leaves jesus out of the picture.. [picture on page 29] fear of god is a precious heritage that parents can pass on to their children.
But Jehovah God has also provided his visible organization, his "faithful and discreet slave," made up of spirit-anointed ones, to help Christians in all nations to understand and apply properly the Bible in their lives. Unless we are in touch with this channel of communication that God is using, we will not progress along the road to life, no matter how much Bible reading we do.?Compare Acts 8:30-40.
The GB has no communication wth and accepts no advice from the remnant. In their VERY own words the GB and the R&F are "unable to progress". Somebody really needs to start proof reading this crap up there.
OT means Old Testament
last week an elder who has served in bethel gave the service meeting talk, which referred to the front page of the sep km (which i don't yet have) on the governing body's letter to all publishers.. he started by saying that "drastic times call for drastic measures" - bethel was going through periods of rapid change.. he referred to a symposium given by brother jaracz and splane last december, where they tried to brush off the layoffs saying everyone had to keep "up with jehovah's celestial chariot".
bethelites were being reassigned to the field, and this would be difficult for them.
some in bethel who were being reassigned had been there 20 or 30 years.
The speaker said that Bethlites were already in a special position and that these were the right people to reassign to the field, where the need is greater.
We got a Bethel couple a few weeks ago for our foreign language congo.
The problem is that there are sooooo few people who speak that language here and sooooo many publishers (who were told the need is great and moved here) chasing them that the poor creatures get a visit every other day it seems.
If this was a way to "spread the word" rather than fire some folks, then they would be sending them to Iraq or perhaps Ethiopia or other places that havn't been worked.
my mother said that the society sent a letter out to all congregations recently saying that they should keep a few days of food and supplies stored up in the case of a disaster.
anyone else heard this?
apparently it has stirred a lot of discussion about the fast approaching end of the system.
On the other hand they DO tell us not to trust anything in the world.....
I guess when that guy on TV says buy some canned food and water I'm supposed to wait a year or two for the GB to verify that it's OK?
Remember, Katrina hit over a year ago, Ivan two years ago and Andrew more than ten. I guess better late than never?
i had to travel to another newspaper owned by the company i work for to learn some of their software today.
it's an open office with everyone in one room, and we had a lot of interesting conversations on all sorts of subjects.. at one point a reporter made a comment about a photo he was running, and noted that the woman had made comments that it was only with the help of the lord that she had been able to move her radio shack store to its new location.
one of the other reporters said that it was good that jesus had died on the cross 2000 years ago so that he could be available to help her out.
I kind of thought the birth-day of that Jesus guy was described in the bible as well.
"Oh that was his day of birth not the annual celebration" say the Dubz.
If birthdays are so bad, then why does the Org analyze the weather conditions to tell us Christianity is WRONG to celebrate X-Mas on 12/25? This was always part of every anti-Bday lecture I got, "well they are wrong about the date because the sheep would have frozen". OK but what does that have to do with birthdays being bad news?
Job's sons are mentioned in Job (duh) as having a great time on "their day". "Oh that means something else of course" say the quick ones or just a blank stare from the slow Dubs as they hunt for the answer that they have been programmed with. There isn't one because the WT has once again chosen to "overlook" evidence to prove its point.

It's just soooooo hard for me to imagine that someone might need to be taught common sense but it really is a specialty of the Dubs.
God but they are so lowest common denominator!

"Thank you for the October 8th Awake! on ?Healing the Wounds of Child Abuse.? Excellent information was presented that we really need. The articles were very accurate. I have observed time and again that victims have a very difficult time relating to Jehovah as a loving Father. When I see this difficulty, I ask them discreetly, ?Were you mistreated as a child?? The great majority of the time, the answer is yes! In every instance where the person was able to see the connection between the abuse and the way their current depression or turmoil affects them, they began to improve.
We know that Witnesses are not recruited off the street but are born into it (as a rule)
The Overseer has just revealed that he has seen "time and time again" examples of child abuse.
Since the vast majority of abuse occurs within the family or friendship circle the Overseer has all but stated that JWs abuse children.
That is the problem Jaracz had with the article.
i want to take a minute and remember those who died that tragic, surreal day.
god bless.. .
I'd like to remember the 2,200,000 people who have died of cigarette smoking in the United States since the Saudis destroyed the twin towers and killed 3,000 people which provoked us into spending a TRILLION dollars on the police action in Iraq.
Where's the "war" on smoking?. We could actually win that one!
i remember growing up, the witness children were often ones that were left to see all those g rated movies from disney.
yet even those at time, while accepted by just about every religion out there, were considered demonic.
for example, the following movies were said to show witchcraft and in or congregation we were encouraged to discard them and not own copies of them; sleeping beauty, snow white, the little mermaid, bed knobs and broomsticks, and fantasia.
Napolean Dynamite because the kid looks "weird"
the thread on jws and hobbies got me to thinking about this, one of my basic disagreements with witness thinking.
the wts always seemed to be dividing activities into those that were "spiritual," and those that weren't.
in witness-land, going to meetings, praying, going out in field service and personal bible study were basically considered the only "spiritual activities.
I find practicing my akido/iaito katas to be very spiritual.
I'm sure the elders would love watching me practice kill cuts with my 600 year old samurai sword
