Hi OTW!
I've seen pretty much the same thing although I am not actually on a "fade" since I attend 90% of the meetings I just think it's all a load of crap.
It's pretty darn unique that a respected JW would actually open up and describe the inner-workings of the cult, almost like an expose; people just find that soooo intriguing. It's very similar to the ex-drunk or drug addict who cheerfully describes the worst aspects of his or her former life to a shocked audience; most people can't even imagine that sort of thing and usually have great respect for someone who is no longer part of it and can describe that sort of unimaginable experiences without shame.
I remember reading the memoirs of an ex-"Moonie" and thinking "My God, what kind of farked-up person gets involved with a group like that?" then my thinking change to gratitude for revealing what actually went on "behind the scenes".
Same thing with your co-workers. Lay it on thick, they will appreciate it and respect you for having escaped.

Would You Like To Know What Goes On At Elder's Meetings?
by minimus inhave you ever wondered what goes on at an elder's meeting?
after a prayer, the presiding overseer will state what the purpose of the meeting is.
if it's a quarterly meeting, the elders will discuss the spirituality of the congregation, its spirit and any dangerous trends that may be observed.

>>Oh and brother and sister CO. don't eat such and such food.<<
Brother CO would send us a letter about a month in advance stating his dietary requirements and what sort of accomodations he would prefer.
He likes StarBucks and the beach; both of which are found in Gulf Breeze -

staying "in Truth" for family--is it worth it?...hyporcrite needing help
by oompa ini have just been outed on this site due to my own stupidity, and lost my anonymity after just a short pleasant while here.
i have been turned in folks, compete with screen name/avatar, by family and i have a ton in.
it is easy to tell it is me, although i never use anyones names.

I,ve been asked that same battery of questions Dude! Maybe because there aren't a whole lot of JWs with Yellow Ferraris and diesel RVs who live on the Gulf in FL?

Probably fewer still who just had a part in the DC in Mobile I would think!

I suggest you do what I did; butch-up and accept that the elders are nothing more than frustrated school janitors who *finally* have their big chance to push people around by usurping God's name.

Go ahead and deny everything; they are to be pitied rather than glorified. Obviously it was an enemy of yours posting here, possibly even someone in the same congregation who knows all about you! Root and root out that evil one from amongst ye! -

Not allowed to sleep over - is that weird?
by collegegirl21 inokay, so my guy and i have been together for 10 months and we usually are ok together.
but there is something that has been getting to me and i think its unusual, but please correct me if i'm wrong - he won't let me sleep over at his house.
and he hardly ever stays at my house, he's maybe stayed here 3 times in our whole relationship.

MinisterAmos
He's married or otherwise involved.
Been there, done that.
He's also an ass for giving you the amateur psycho-analysis by the way. Sound like a real pompous pr*ck. -

I'll save you the trouble of guessing:
1 Obey those who take the lead
2 Don't use the internet
3 Never miss a meeting
4 Be a Pioneer
5 Give Lovingly and Whole-Spiritedly
6 See Rule 1
And that's it. You never have to read another word. -

Employers to Fire Illegals
by skeeter1 inemployers check potential employees documents (social security card, etc) when hiring a new person.
illegals use bad social security & other documents.
many times, it is stolen information.. employers get a "no match" letter.
-
MinisterAmos
I forsee absolutely no effect. Remember that to legally work in the US, an Employee has to complete an "I-9" document which requires that the Employer be presented with two pieces of ID that illegals would never be able to obtain. There are severe penalties to circumvent this law (IRA of 1986)
If they are breaking the law now, why would they stop just because of another law?
As far as the SSNs go, most of the numbers that illegals use are valid, they just get shared by many people.
As far as we know, they are not doing anything with these numbers other than well, WORKING? Obviously it would be much better for the US if, when they can no longer work, that they use these numbers for identity theft.
Probably earn better that way with less Gov't interference as well! -

Is this letter rude? My wife thought so....
by CaptainSchmideo inplease find enclosed my check for $109.50.
while i am paying this bill, i believe that this charge is incredibly excessive.
$93.50 of this bill is for a uroflowmetry, complex test.
-
MinisterAmos
Uroflowmetry is pure and unadulterated patient rape.
They charge every swinging dork $100 to pee in a cup for five seconds never taking into account bladder fullness, pressure etc all of which naturally increase or decrease urine volume.
The answer is always "ummmHuh very good"
Compare it to a garden hose or in my case a fire hose; a LARGE fire hose.
