I have a feeling that "The Watchtower" of 4/1/2006 was an April Fool
by MinisterAmos inthe issue contains the "life story" of a brother who has been in for sixty years, but it really sounds like someone from jwd who is subtly bashing the org.. according to him he only got dunked some 60 years ago because "my mother (repeatedly) emphasized one point to me; armageddon is coming soon"!
when he was baptized to age 13 he "only understood basic bible teachings and understood that he was responsible to jehovah for my conduct".
note he specifically omits mention of the wtbs as being representive of god and fails to mention "showing glory to the elders and others" as demanded in wt 9/1/97 but is seeming to mock the wt with the "soon" remark and also with the fact that he was baptized at 13, without his parent's permission and with little knowledge.. anyway, his mom is dead and here we are 60 years later.

The CO is coming and BOY is he loving!
by MinisterAmos ini guess next week will mark the co visit at my congo.
should be loads of fun for all since last time he publicly humiliated and literally tongue lashed the yoots for dressing worldly and the moms for letting their children cry.. the 20 something guys had the audacity to wear flashy ties and dark shirts, the baby room was being used by a korean book study and it was raining outside.
wtf were the moms supposed to do with their kids when there was literally no place to put them.. something that i found very interesting was that i was exempt from the flashy tie and dark shirt thing even though i made it a point to stand in front of him and take off my coat while discussing the down pour after the meeting.

Anyone ever been moved from one congo to another?
by MinisterAmos ini'm pretty sure it wasn't a personal thing, just that they needed more publishers to start the "new" congregation, but about a year ago i got tapped to move from one congo to another.
i also suspect that they were planning on soliciting loans from wealthier brothers (like me) to finance the hall construction.. a little background; i had been active and happy for almost two years in a congo about 20-30 minutes to the east of my home and had set up work and appointments for myself and family to take advantage of the fact that i would be in that particular neighborhood on those days and nights.
the usual like doctors, schools, day-care etc.

Which recent study was it that explained how Jehovah doesn´t just forgive?
by MinisterAmos ini'm trying to place the scriptural basis and wt article that explains that jehovah doesn't just forgive transgressions, minor and major, but he actually 'wipes clean' the slate and forgets they ever happened which is the real essence or forgiveness.
(provided the person is repentant of course) i know we studied this in the past few months but can't find it.. i'm trying to contrast this with wt policy of recording transgressions and keeping records, allegedly written and most certainly mental, of minor offenses well past the moment of claiming that the offendor is 'forgiven.
the practice is contrary to what the wt has claimed in print that we should strive for.. i'd like to ask this question at my next 'bible study'

Ironic hypocrisy of Bethel "service"
by MinisterAmos ini normally let people make their own decisions with a very hands off approach, but after reading the "living together in bethel" (or whatever the name of the piece of crap book is) i need to vent a bit.. anyone here is very familiar with the "quit your job or at least cut way back" talks that we were subjected to seemingly every other week.
after all, good dubz need time to prepare, attend, pioneer etc.
a good friend of mine left her job at an insurance co. to pioneer.

Why don't Dub families have pets?
by MinisterAmos inout of a dozen or so dub families that live near me i can only think of one with a dog.
at mt ex-congo, i only knew of two families with pets, dogs/cats.
the non-dub pet owning percentage around me is near 100%.

What would happen if I asked Brooklyn for this?
by MinisterAmos in.
i want a copy of the "x-mas" issue of the golden age; the issue that describes that dubs can practice xmas, but i need the actual paper maybe with a note on dub stationary that it is an actual copy.. it's easy to find the text on-line, but i have yet to find a hard copy in a kh library.. what will brooklyn do if i ask for one?
i'm serious because i made this claim and now i can't prove it.

What happens if someone gets sick at an Assembly?
by MinisterAmos ini keep meaning to ask one of the super dubs this question, but i'm afraid it will "stumble" them.
in the weeks before assembly we are given the list of do's and don'ts at ministry school.
one of the instructions is always something like "if you notice that a person has become ill (has an attack etc.

Assembly Time is Near! Were you always a good Dub when you went?
by MinisterAmos ini've gotten into at least one argument at every one i've gone to.
last summer, i started laughing when a sister on the stage told us how "proud" she was that she only had two complete place settings in her house.
if more than one person came to visit she related that she had to wash a cup so that the other one could drink.
