  Did God ever grant what you asked for in prayer?

  i was an active witness, and i didn't feel as if god granted anything i asked for in prayers.

  i didn't ask anything out of the ordinary.

  since the witnesses say that they are god's followers and that he blesses them, i wonder in what way he blesses individuals when they pray?.

  mrs ozzie and i were driving past bethel today and it occurred to me that things looked very quiet inside the gulag.. i got to wondering about all the frenetic activity of years gone by.

  are they still expanding barnch offices?.

  or has that all stopped now?.

  Hey Ozzie, How big are the Dubs over here? I rarely see them and when i do i always give them a toot of the horn in appreciation of their sterling work! Theres a KH around the corner from my work, sometimes se them on the Ministry if im in work on a Saturday, but they never have knocked on my door since i have lived here. Might be in part to the Missus dad getting his shottie out at them some years back!!! Do they still have quickbuilds? I went to the building of one of them in about 1992, was kinda fun, although my visions of it being an Amish-esque barn raising were quickly quoshed by the moaning of the Bro's about the catering!!

  Update on the unwanted wedding guest.

  remember a while back where i posted a topic on my next door neighbour and how i did not want her ex who seems not to be an ex anymore, to come to our wedding as he was caught stealing something at the engagement party????.

  well heres an update: she came over the other day and asked if she could take my son next door for an icy pole.

  so after bout 10 mins i followed, she was playing with my son and drunk as usual if i had of known this before i would have said no.

  hi folks.

  i am new to this board and since i am currently undergoing bible study with a jw elder, thought it would be a good idea to expose myself to other viewpoints on what i am learning from him.. a while ago i read "should you believe in the trininty".

  having had a barely adequate education, i knew a lot of the names of the father's cited therein but had never really read anything they wrote.

  Dontomas, your questionning what hes telling you, dosen't that ring alarm bells? Has this site not enlightened you to the plain facts that 99% of the people on this site have had a NEGATIVE experience with the JW's as people and as a religion. We don;t make this stuff up you know! It is a controlling dominating set of beliefs that have little to none at all basis on Scriptual Teachings. I suggest for your own sanity you cease now whilst your at least still in control of your thought processes. And sure the Elders studying with you are nice, theyre grooming you, like a new whore, once your baptised your on your own buddy, just wait for the criticism, the arrogance and finally the post traumatic stress disorder that plagues most of us. Sorry to be blunt amigo, but take it from an old company man, raised in the 'Dub Way, Its not a religion, its a Publishing Corporation, religion is the selling hook!

  JW Ladies: starved for love?

  ok, in another thread, a poster referred to incidents of "sisters" out in "field service" attempting to "hit" on the males they encountered at the doors.

  i have personally had this experience, and also noticed that the last time i visited a kingdom hall, the females in the hall were very, very flirty (including those who were married).

  it was as if i had entered a place inhabited soley by women who had been denied male companionship for years!

  im my old cong, the women there were shockers, think Helen Lovejoy from The Simpsons! The younger females were all after the same brother, and ltterally fought over this idiot, a spineless two faced backstabber if there ever was! A fine example of manhood! As a young fella, i loved the chicks and still do, and the other brothers couldn';t handle it, because i had a large group of females in school i used to hang out with you kinda get to know what makes em tick, the brothers on the other hand, hohohohhooo clueless! Woulnd't know a G'spot from a 10 spot! As you could imagine i got into a bit of trouble servicing my fellow sisters needs, not bragging but i feel they at least got to feel a bit special for once in their poor lives, and treated like a queen! It makes me laugh when you see the most obviously mis-matched couples in Da Troof marrying in total desparation, and taking whatever comes along, and then trapped forever until they snap out of it! Sooooo glad i never married a Dub, came close but no cigar!

  The Brooklyn Protest-- Everyone read

  i spoke about 1/2 hour to shunned father on the phone last night, and he proclaims his innocence as regards to that beacon of truth post.

  he is very much appreciative of the offers of help he has received, so please everyone, dont back out on this historic event because of a post that seemed offensive.

  i will be disappointed if everyone were to pull out because of this.
