just some private pondering here.
as i watched a good friend get baptized, i wondered, how does a jehovah's witness explain isaiah 45:22-23/romans 14:11?
in these two scriptures, god says that one day everyone will honor him.
Remember this scripture.
45
"Who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time? 46 Happy is that slave if his master on arriving finds him doing so. 47 Truly I say to YOU, He will appoint him over all his belongings.
So they can do what ever they want. Twist scriptures like pegs & force square pegs into round holes.

Personally, I can not honestly and with a true heart, honor and believe in a deity that will kill me if I do not. I can not honor, worship and believe in a god with morals lower than my own. It's simple. I just can't do it.

for all of you non-religionists out there: do you consider yourself an agnostic or atheist, and why?
it seems many ex-jws that "loose the faith" have a tendency to go straight for atheism.
i myself, would consider myself more of an agnostic, as i believe we have no real way of knowing if there is a god one way or the other, and it tends to seem just as extreme to me, to insist that there is not one.
I am a Christian. I believe in God and love Him. I also believe in Jesus Christ & love him!

the reason i ask is that my best friend all the time i was growing up was a boy about 5 years older than i was.
his parents were at lot less strict than mine and as he was super brainy after he finished public school and sixth form he went off to one of the country's finest universities.
the only thing that bugs me now about this is that i know he was incredibly clever - how could he go to uni and still be a dub?
He is brain washed.. I was in my late thirties before I woke up.. Why would my parents drag & beat me to go to the kingdom hall if it was not the truth? Because they wanted someone (other then themselves) to do all of the thinking when it came to understanding the bible. My mother said a few months ago when I was talking with her "who are you to try and interpret the scriptures, the brothers in bethel have been studying the bible for years."
You should send him some letters & possible wake him up to the real truth..
tomarrow i'm meeting with a jw friend who is connected to what's going on with these elders that came over our house and everything else.
i can't get into details as to how it works out, but this is the important part.
this guy (and elder) can be a quite reasonable person.
What about the teaching on 1799? Have you read about this?
i remmber when i was a witness the cong asked people to go visit sister sick, and we would go when i told them my worldly gramma was sick, the reaction was, you must take care of jehovah people, what about my gramma isn't that a christian thing to do.
this hurt me.
just because my little italian gramma wasn't a witness doesn't mean you stop loving a person.

i was just informed that the wtbts has issued some addendums to the old outdated fading light revelation climax book & that it is going to be the next book re-studied.
has anyone else heard this, is it true?
