What should I do?
by MrsBee inlong story short, hubby is a dfd dub who is trying to get back wasnt raised one, became one when he was like 25 .. anyhoo, i have issues with the dubs due to knowing so many kids in my hs who were miserable growing up, but ive been to the kh a few times once when i was an impressionable teenager open minded to what they had to say due to my boyfriend at the time.
they made a statement about all other religions are babylon or harlots or something like that and i knew from that point on that i would never be a part of it.
fast forward to a few yrs ago me and hubby met back up after being separated for 10 years he said he used to be a dub, i said r u going back, he said prob not.

Long story short, hubby is a DF’d Dub who is trying to get back … wasn’t raised one, became one when he was like 25 .. Anyhoo, I have issues with the dubs due to knowing so many kids in my HS who were miserable growing up, but Ive been to the KH a few times once when I was an impressionable teenager open minded to what they had to say due to my boyfriend at the time. I thought that was that and let it roll!
Now, he is going back to meetings, we have discussions he is always saying things like, other religions are based on emotions, JW are based on fact, you just don’t want to change your life, LOL. Or you don’t think Jehovah God deserves a few days out the week. LOL.. Ive let my feelings be known, I have no interest in the “religion”, or any other one as a matter of fact. I don’t really have a choice to have it in my life right now because of him, but Im not becoming one, don’t want to go to the KH. He says what’s the big deal? You should give it a chance. Im like if that’s what you wanna do , more power to you, but ixna on the dubyay for me. LOL . I know he thinks if I go then I will just be like, OMG it is the truth, I have been blinded for all these years and I have seen the light LOLOL
Im way to independent thinking to be a dub , LOL .. I wouldn’t go to a mosque, scientology or mormon church cuz I believe their “religions” are looney tunes too .
My whole point in asking for help is … how can I be crystal clear without being a butthole about it. I mean we only have one car so anything I wanna do on Sunday gotta wait, lol .. My mother is coming in town Sunday and he is like yall can come with me to the meeting and we can leave and go get your mom.. IM LIKE I DON’T WANT TO GO! I don’t want to be an ass about it (sorry for the lang) But what can I do. I love the man, but cant stand the religion, how is that gonna work? -

Some Advice .... for an UBM
by MrsBee inmy husband is a dfd dub even though he still believes all the crap.. .
we have a discussion yesterday where i basically said i feel like i was bamboozled because i didnt really have the option to choose.
if i had the choice, knowing what i know (growing up around a lot of jws in my life) i wouldnt make the choice to marry into the religion because i think its wacked, lol .

Thanks everyone
I have to say that, I have tried , pretty successfully to avoid any bashing, or even conversation about the JW’s because one time when I was expressing my opinion in regards to them he said, that’s Satan controlling your mind, I was like ur kidding right? And I didn’t want to push him harder and faster back to them.
He experienced some pretty rude treatment, when he got DF’d , he said he asked the elders what he could do to be reinstated, and he said they were like figure it out, at the time he was getting a lot of female attention at the KH and had a lot of problems with the men at this particular KH
I also know that I agreed to go one time with him, and we went to a KH he used to go to and it was another religion in the building, that happened two times, he tried to go to old KH’s and they were closed and belonged to someone else.
Its not just the JW’s ya know, my mother is involved in that Evangelical give me $100 you will get $10,000 type religion, and they disgust me as well, but I don’t have daily interaction with my mom like that. Only if my DH and I talk about football can we have a normal conversation, everything else leads into some bible JW talk, and I think just dealing with him and researching religion as a whole I have become more agnostic than anything.
One of my Best Friends was raised a witness, her mom was a witness and father was not, when her mother allowed the elders to basically attack her for doing what is normal teenage behavior, her father was like, my kids are NOT going back to the KH .
And we have a 2 year old, I will NOT allow my son to be raised in that religion, if he wants to join when he is grown , more power to him, but I don’t want my son raised as a JW and I don’t care if he likes it or not.

Which is me
My husband is a DF’d Dub even though he still believes all the crap.
We have a discussion yesterday where I basically said I feel like I was bamboozled because I didn’t really have the option to choose. If I had the choice, knowing what I know (growing up around a lot of jw’s in my life) I wouldn’t make the choice to marry into the religion because I think its wacked, LOL . I love my husband but I think that his devotion to the Borg could definitely cause a wedge between us, and I think it has a little bit.
Some of the things he said were :
Holidays – Why do we have to do things on a specific day? Why cant we just do them any other time. I celebrate our anniversary; I can’t just turn off what I know to be the truth.
Time Consumption of Meetings – 3 days a week, so you think that is too much to do to please God? (lol) He gives you life but you don’t want to give him a few days a week, it’s a privilege to do so. He is definitely going to go back and be reinstated, saying the reason he spreads out his attendance of the meetings is so that I can adjust .. uh huh
Me not being interested in the dubs – You just don’t want to change your life, you like your life and you don’t want to make the changes to please God, you don’t read the bible to get a full understanding of what God expects of you. I cant force you and Im not gonna try, you should just come with me and see for yourself, im like Nooooo, LOL, been to plenty of meetings in my life, not interested..
Ok, I can admit, Im sure I was rolling my eyes, I got irritated, he makes a comment like, you know me, do you think I would get involved something I haven’t researched?? Im like, you couldn’t have researched this religion thoroughly and make an educated decision to join.
I am wrong because I think Im letting this affect the way I feel about him, Am I just being closed minded? Or realisitic that if/when he gets reinstated that it could be the demise of my marriage. Im sorry this is so long .. Im mad about it, LOL -

Looking for some help about marriage
by Matt_fs inhope this isnt a repost, couldnt find anything on the subject.. have a friend who is marrying a jw.
he isn't a jw but she is (even though she doesnt really go or believe in it), her parents are strict jw's but wont goto their wedding cause of something about being unevenly yoked?
now they both want her parents to go, but the parents tend to think they are not allowed to go.

Misleading advice at the Hall.
by edmond dantes inwords of wisdom at the kingdom hall went something like " don't marry for looks because looks fade.
" what i want to know is if the person you married turns out to be a crabby old miserable so and so how do you cope with ugly personality plus ugly looks.i mean if you marry a looker at least you have enjoyed some vision of delight, if you get stuck with both you are in a double bind.

Anyone heard this one about Home Studies??
by aniron ini picked this up on another forum the poster said the following.. i was also told by a witness at the door that they are no longer doing real home bible studies with new 'suckers'.
instead they are doing 'doorstep studies' because everyone is 'so busy'.
in other words they can't get anyone to let them in for an hour so they now call their little 'preach and runs' bible studies.

In my area they dont even knock on doors anymore, they sit in cars at the shopping centers and hand out literature LOL I call it drive by witnessing LOL

JW's shunning baptized wife and family because of unbaptized husband
by MinisterAmos ini saw a related thread around here but can't locate it so i'm posting this personal observation on what i would call a "high-profile" couple.
rich and bright i met them at the kh.
it starts about three years ago when a family moved to our area; a couple and their child.
