If a Governing Body member needed blood, they would make sure he died and make a martyr out of him. His picture would be blasted on all of their literature praising him for being loyal to Jehovah. They would use it to guilt their members into unquestioningly accept their blood policy.

What if one of the GB members suddenly needed blood?
by StarTrekAngel inthere is not much to be analyzed.
in a cult enviromment the leader will always look up for himself.
he would never hesitate to break every rule to save his own skin.

Xenophobia v Shrimpophobia
by snugglebunny innothing as amusing as a bit of heated xenophobia.
a case in point:.
xenophobe: "i hate america and i hate all americans!".

I live in America. I only hate crazy orange men with tiny hands. What kind of phobia is that?

Jesus, the Great Convincer?
by Simon insupposedly the disciples witnessed jesus' super-power awesomeness first-hand.. so they were all 100% on-board to-the-death martyrs ... right?.
erm .... judas betrayed him.
thomas didn't believe he'd come back.

I think that at one time there was probably a person named Jesus that did exist, and had a cult following for his new hippy-like ideals. I think this story was retold and embellished so many times that by the time it got to written paper, he could walk on water and raise the dead! Jesus is just a tall tale that people have taken a little too seriously.
My theory is just as valid as the traditional one.

New, but needed to vent- thank you :-)
by Danni Jackson ini discovered your website this morning as i was trying to find some information about 'marking'.
you see a very close friend of mine was 'marked' earlier this week and as i know the ins and outs of the situation (as we are close friends) i disregarded the talk immediately as i know my friend is obviously having issues but is no way a 'danger' to anybody else's spiritual health.
basically they are dating a non-believer- hence the talk.

Jehovah's Witnesses have always seemed to have very black and white thinking about just about everything, including people. That is why friendships with Witnesses are so fragile. They will lay down their life for you one day, and overnight decide that you are bad association.
Good for you for trying to break the mold! Good luck in not getting marked too for hanging out with your marked friend! You're gonna need it.

I’m feeling a bit down and troubled
by Tallon inwhat is getting me down are the difficult and troubling experiences posted by some of the forum users.
in a number of cases i cannot believe the injustice inflicted on the person.
how, forgive the wording, in god’s name can this be happening?

Yes, sometimes I have to take a break from forums like this because it starts to get to me. It starts bringing up issues for me that I thought I had worked through. Sometimes that's good because I need to deal with it and sometimes that's bad because sometimes the timing isn't ideal. So, I take a break when I need it and come back when I can. I try to offer support when I can, but sometimes that is really hard for me. But if I'm not willing to offer support for others, how can I ask for support when I need it?

The best kind of dinner that you can have with Jehovah's Witnesses is one where they don't show up. -

If a JW Came To Your Door How Would You Handle It?
by minimus injehovah's witnesses have never come to my door but they have come to my girlfriends door.
i have coached her as to what to say or ask but it appears that they always seem to come when she's not there.
.....just curious would you get into it with a jehovah's witness at your door especially if it was someone you did not know?.

I would call the police and charge them with trespassing. I wrote a cease and desist letter and ordered them to put me on their do not call list.
