  I read it and cringed. It sounds like she might want to go hard core now and is trying to convert her muslim-raised husband. She actually used a JW phrase that made me want to throw up a little bit ... "takes the lead"!

  Talking about her (then) fiancee, Alexis Ohanian:

  “He’s extremely smart but not a know-it-all. He’s curious about what he doesn’t know. Being a Jehovah’s Witness is important to me, but I’ve never really practiced it and have been wanting to get into it. Alexis didn’t grow up going to any church, but he’s really receptive and even takes the lead. He puts my needs first.”

  Thanks, hisclarkness! I'll look it up. I was wondering if she recently starting suffering from new parent guilt. I have seen several people do that. They have a baby and then all of the decide, they feel like they need to decide on a religion.

  it has been sickening to read the most recently leaked documents by faithleaks.

  it makes me so angry because so many of us have experienced first hand the horrible policies of the watchtower on abuse.

  i feel like these documents are finally the smoking gun we have all been hoping to expose the watchtower, and so far, the only mainstream news that i have seen pick it up is newsweek.. what will it take for the mainstream media pick this up and give it the attention it deserves?

  Another way I thought it draw attention is in the political realm. Politicians love to hang their hat on the right cause. Personally, I think there should be mandatory reporting in EVERY state, and the clergy should not be exempt from reporting any abuse involving children. This is an issue that I think even members of mainstream religion could hang their hat on. I think there could be a case made that not reporting abuse could violate a child's right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, so no one should be exempt from it.

  so far, i’ve only gone to my mother’s memorial and have avoided the kingdom hall altogether.... your thoughts please?.

  What is so frustrating is that the world doesn't know who any of these small groups are until a huge tragedy happens, like in the case of the Waco Davidians or the Applewhite group (can't remember their name). I hate that the tragedy has to be on such a large scale before the world pays attention.

  I think the alarming number of hidden abuse cases, and the alarming way they instruct their members to handle abuse is a tragedy worthy of attention.

  The world doesn't agree.
