Out of all of the ridiculous things that this religion imposes on their people, this is the worst type of transgression. I am so sorry.

she passed faithful to the end to them!
by jookbeard injust found out (second hand of course) and by someone on here that my faithful jw mum passed away within the last couple of days, dont know the exact day, and what cause, she spent the last few years living with my fanatical sister, she was 65 and survived my father by 10 years, bitter, angry and hateful till the end and never as so much enquired or asked how her 2 grandchildren ever were , they are 5 and 7!
feeling a mixture of emotions right now, they were lousy parents in all honesty, she suffered health wise so maybe its for the best, dont even know when the funeral is!

The 50 Ways to Be Disfellowshipped

i know the most common reasons are adultery and fornication, but what about the others?
a couple of years ago i traveled back to my hometown` and one of my old jw acquaintances told me that her grown son had been disfellowshipped for refusing to stop associating with another disfellowshipped person.

So what do you think the official reason on the paperwork said? "Disfellowshipped for talking to Jason"? I imagine they put a twist on it so it doesn't as juvenile as it really is.

I think everybody on here has probably reported fake hours in the beginning of leaving. Its just part of the process, I guess.
The bottom line is: there is no graceful way to bow out of this religion. This is a system of their creation. Unfortunately, a little deception and a few white lies are sometimes necessary in hopes you come out of it as unscathed as possible. I wouldn't challenge your parents on any issue to try to justify why you are leaving. I would leave quietly, with as little fanfare as possible. That's what I did. It takes a while, but its better in the long run.

JW TV Streaming
by Wild_Thing ini was telling my sister (who is also no longer a jw) how they have a jw broadcast channel now and stream their propaganda all the time.
so i decided to check it out again, and right now anthony morris is on there bashing higher education.
my mother has recently told me that the jws have lightened up about that issue and it is okay to pursue higher ed now.

It's not all higher education that they are bashing, mainly University education that requires four or more years. For instance, you can study to be a nurse but not a Doctor.
Yes, that is true. Which is ridiculous. I remember when they loosened up about vocational type programs. It was 1993, and I took full advantage of it and enrolled in the closest community college. And their stance hasn't changed since then. Its so sad.
