we've just got back from out holidays after travelling with 2 young kids for 24+ hours and logged on to see the same old people complaining about the same old things with the same worn out arguments.. the topics seem to be along the lines of:posters should be allowed to say anything they want.we want absolute free speech and seem to be under the mistaken illusion that the usa has it.there is mass moderation happening on this forum and censorship is rife.

... and so on.. all of these claims are utter crap as far as i am concerned.. now, i am not going to put up with people trying to stir things up and interfere with the majority of posters who want to use this forum properly and see me and moderation as the main topic of conversation.. keep harping on and you will be deleted.

I made an obvious joke by changing a font and words that said "Edited by Prisca" and "edited by Kent".

Sorry it wasn't obvious to you, Simon. But you tell everyone that we need to use common sense...I think anyone who saw that would have known it was a joke. Do you really think others here would believe that you made Kent a moderator?

That way we can all write to the society and ask them why they are covering for person XX and we can attach official information to those letters. Let's give these people there own medicine!!

in my opinion it should be and a pedophile should never be allowed back into the organization.. the children they abuse suffer for the rest of their lives so why should a pedophile have forgiveness and be reinstated?

I fail to see why society should forgive maggots that have totally destroyed peoples lives.

While I understand that it is beneficial for the victim to forgive or let go if it enables them to move beyond this ugly issue I think it is actually weak and pathetic that society feels that these animals can be free to continue roaming after they are known to be what they are.

How many times does a pedophile have to do it again before society says enough? I have been told that we are civilized now and do not use ancient forms of justice. My response is "Yes, it is very civilized to allow more children to have the terror and the pain. We are big hearted because we give pedophiles another chance".

That is my view of society. But since we are told repeatedly that we are living in the power of the wicked one and that worldlings are evil (sidebar: how many times have you had 1 Cor 15 verse 33 read to you? I bet I have had it read close to 1000 times - I hate that scripture).

So the Witnesses are much better than the low-life world after all they are God's chosen people. Well then why do we tolerate pedophiles? Why do we spout crap like "it is God's place to judge" and "only God can read the heart"?

I am through with this nonsense. I sick of having stupid people who are window washers and job-jumpers acted as "princes over the earth". If someone is caught like Leo Greenlees supposedly was how can the parents of his victim be so whimpish and simply accept his being reassigned? We all know why. It is out of a false loyalty to an organization. They have been told to be loyal and toe the line or else they will die. This is the ultimate mind-control. This situation is exactly the same way a pedophile makes his victim keep silent. It is well established that pedophiles threaten their victims with harm or tell the child that if they speak out that the pedophile will hurt those who the child loves unless the child remains silent.

Well, the victims and the families of the victims are treated that way by the pedophile and then they are treated the same way by the congregation too. Families are told that if they speak out about this crime then they will lose the favor of God and ultimately they will be outside of God's chosen organization and thus can only expect death at Armageddon. And we still think we are not a cult heh? Do we still ridicule David Koresh's followers? Didn't they have the same mind-control being used on them too?

The ultimate mind control is to make someone believe that their disobedience to your word will result in their death or the death and hurt of their loved ones. But I guess that's not a description of the JW's after all John 13 verse 34 and 35 has shown who they are!!

the issue has to do with universal sovreignty and the ransom sacrifice.

let me try to illustrate by way of analogy:.

Thanks very much for the responses. Many of you have eloquent ways with words and I am relieved to see that many of you have thought long and hard about this issue. It is a very discouraging issue and I am not sure that everyone (although it is very obvious some of you guys have realized it) has realized or thought about the impact of the issue.

Farkel - you said it well....Before one even thinks about the issue of the ransom one has to come to terms with and understand the "fall of man". The fall of man and the way "free will" is explained is totally illogical. Knowing that God made all the rules makes it hard for one to accept that things could have been like they are as a result of the simplistic explanation we all have to swallow.

Ask any parent if they would risk the life of one of their children by betting on the behaviour of someone else. We are told that God can exercise for knowledge but chose not to in the case of Adam and Eve. Well, was that flawed judgement by NOT using this power back then? for now let's assume that God did not exercise his abilities of foreknowledge though - the next question is: Did he think about the consequences of what would happen if Adam did sin? That I just can't buy!! He must have thought about it. He must have known that he was essentially "betting" the life of Jesus on the behavious of Adam and Eve!! I just cannot come to terms how that can be true. What was the upside? the probabilities in that situation seem as if all they carried was downside risk - and a terrible one at that.

Thinking on this issue is what has caused me to start "falling away". I sat in the memorial this year and everyone was saying how grateful they are and how it is such a loving arrangement and I just sat their feeling like a reject. I felt terrible because I had no appreciation for the ransom. I felt like I was the only one seeing the naked emperor prancing up and down and everyone else was admiring his wardrobe.

But then I came here and discovered all you other problem chidlren!!

Any idea why when one explains this issue to most JWS and other Christians they just don't get it? It is almost as though they get are in a trance and don't have any idea what you are saying...perhaps I have been blinded by the light of the Devil.

these defenders seem to think that we are silent about other religions, and that we are just embellishing this issue because we have an ulterior motive to engage in a hate campaign.. let's look at a little history.

the watch tower religion has through its history, especially from j. f. rutherford's time, engaged in the most horrid bashing of all religions, especially the catholic church and protestant denominations.

I would respond that ALL religions are CULTS. Anytime something works based on fear then it fits a common definition of the word CULT. Witnesses use fear of Armageddon as a tool, Catholics and others use fear of Hellfire as a tool.

i felt like they were there to get us to da ourselves.

Once again I feel like an lawyer-lover (NOT TRUE). But what are your legal rights in this regard? Do you know them? Are you legally prevented from publishing the names and addreses of the CO and the other scrotum-sucking scumbag? Do you know the exact procedure for DA'in yourself? Was this followed or can you appeal saying it was said by your husband in the heat of the moment because he saw them upset you?

If you can meet with them again....then you can record the meeting....whatever you do you have to figure out a way to do that and then find a way whereby they violate their own to-the-letter policy of DFing you.

If someone DA's themselves surely they have a right to retract it especially if it is within one or 2 days. SEE AN ATTORNEY ON MONDAY!! DO NOT THINK TWICE ABOUT IT.

Then get another meeting with them and record it and give the evidence to your attorney. If he can find any violation you have a case for making them accept you back!!
