It;s funny, but Jesus always prayed to his FATHER, and didn't call him anything else. (God or Jehovah)

Legolas,
I Like your avatar...and the one you had before...I think that one had lighter hair color.
Why? I remember you were the first to welcome me here. I thought you had chosen a funny name.
I didn't know anything about LotR at that time. Since then I have seen the movie (The two towers) and now I like your avatar even more.
Terry - I like his picture very much. It's got everything ... can't explain. Sad, wise, smart, and kind of 'moviestar'- like. I really love it.
Of course I like my own, too. :-)

I was a victim of a Baptism Fascist! (were you?)
by slimboyfat inwhen i was baptised it was in the kingdom hall pool; i was only a teenager.
i was baptised by an old elder from a nearby congregation, but next to the pool stood the baptism fascist .
people in the congregation said my baptism was not valid because of my little toe.

Number of pioneers down 27 % ? No no no !
by TheOldHippie ini failed to find the thread right now, but there was a thread as to the 2005 annual report, and it was stated that the number of pioneers had dwindled from 858,461 to 623,308 - 27 %.
and comments were made on how little the society cared etc.
but, had yoy bothered to look closely at the figures (perhaps you've been well trained in sloppy statistics and misrepresenting by a certain group from before ......), you would have noticed thatthe column for pioneers this year has been divided in two - one for auxilliary pioneers and one for regular pioneers.

I am sorry, but this doesn't make sense to me
you would have noticed thatthe column for pioneers this year has been divided in two - one for auxilliary pioneers and one for regular pioneers. Adding the two columns (623,308 for regulars, 219,926 for auxilliary), gives you 843,234 pioneers - which is the figure to compare with last years's column.
Okay- that may be true - column divided in two. But I think other years they only counted the regular pioneers. So, if we do the same thing now, the numbers ARE down!!
Maybe they added the aux. pioneers to hide the fact that the pioneer numbers are going down?!
Only guessing, of course.

Beards are evil, but do you know why?
by free2beme inas a witness, i knew several men who attempted to grow beards.
when they did, and attended meetings, it did not take long to be talked to by elders and told, "as spiritual men, they should not display an outward form of rebellion.
" why was this a form of rebellion?

I am sorry, but although the Netherlands seems to be a liberal country, the beard is a big issue here.
Beard= no privileges.

Bizarre JW stories of enduring hardship
by Vormek2.8 ini remember hearing of a faithful older brother who was attacked by vicious dogs while in service.
even though his clothes were shredded and he was bleeding he continued walking door to door to finish his assigned territory for that day.

I remember this story as well, Confession. It was in the WT or Awake in the 60's I think. Maybe 70's.
I remember I read it when I was maybe 8 years old.
I loved reading, and my witness parents had shelves full of witness books and bound volumes...so I read the bound volumes.
I never forget that story...ugh!!!

Your first talk at the Theorcatic Ministry School, do you remember it?
by JH ini do, i had to read ezekiel 9: (1-11)
and he proceeded to call out in my ears with a loud voice, saying: have those giving their attention to the city come near, each one with his weapon in his hand for bringing ruin!
there were six men coming from the direction of the upper gate that faces to the north, each one with his weapon for smashing in his hand; and there was one man in among them clothed with linen, with a secretarys inkhorn at his hips, and they proceeded to come in and stand beside the copper altar.

yeah .. I remember. I was 6 y/o and I don't remember what the talk was about. I had to do the talk with my mother.
I remember feeling so ashamed I did hide myself under the table. Everybody laughed. But eventually I did finish the talk.
Later it became kind of a hobby - I can write a talk in a few minutes. I like to perform. But since I am a freemind I don't do talks anymore. I am afraid I will say things they don't like to hear... :)

It's too funny - me too I watched it for the first time!! Last week. It was "the Two Towers", but now I plan to see them all!
I discovered there is nothing in this movie, that is not already written in the bible...talking trees, flying beasts, war, wizzards... ;-)
