we Jews
I didn't know all Jews were so united!
the hebrew language in biblical form did not exit until after 800 bce (likely 722).
the presents ex 15 and judges 5 as early but not contemporary.. well wake up... i'm a minimalist however i know the song of deborah fits somewhere.... like before omri.. (established as the first israelite ruler of israel..).
so where does that leave deborah or the song of the sea... both early hebrew but not canaanite.... the answer laid in shamngar...note:.

following on from the bombings of coptic churches in egypt, there was an attack earlier this month on a checkpoint near st catherine's monastery.
this monastery dates back to the time of justinian and has a number of early bible mss including part of codex sinaiticus of the fourth century.. i am surprised this hasn't happened before because isis is active in northern sinai and it would be a major event were they to gain access and wreak havoc at st catherine's monastery.
although the isolation of the monastery has contributed to its survival over 1400 years, it is in the forefront of digitising its manuscript collection.
Thanks, Earnest, for this info. It makes me wonder if they'll be back and if Egypt will beef up security there.
i know this must be coming down from the top because the elders in my hall who didn't really care before are all concerned about it.
must be on the list of things to do before the co comes back around.
in past years i never really thought about the dpa.
Excuse my ignorance, but is this DPA just over health matters or does it allow the designee to control other aspects of the incapacitated one's life, like finances?
pretoria [ south africa] - an unusual urgent application served before the gauteng high court this week,in which a lyttelton manor resident, who said he is was known as the “anointed one” among jehovah’s witnesses, asked the court to officially swear him in as the worldwide leader of the organisation.. ernest gericke, in papers before the court, told judge bill prinsloo that the “first business of the christ is the legal establishment of the kingdom of god on earth, known as the jehovah’s kingdom.” .
gericke said this involved the the conducting of a covenant for a kingdom, which is to take place on april 11. .
“in order to effect the legal requirements for the kingdom this honourable court is requested to hear the public oath of the office of the king.
Hmmm, do you think the GB will invite him to join their number? His videos might make Lett's look rather mild...
the journal nature, dated 14 march 2017, has an article entitled fossil algae hold clues to origin of modern photosynthesis reporting on a newly discovered set of 'eukaryotic' specimens which may help to identify the origin of photosynthesis in eukaryotes.
however, there is some uncertainty in this.. it can be difficult to pinpoint exactly where ancient fossils lie on the tree of life because, billions of years ago, many organisms were superficially similar.
“that’s the problem with this field,” says [nicholas butterfield, a palaeobiologist at the university of cambridge, uk].
Thanks for the post—interesting stuff.
why the big controversy over baptizing the dead, they are dead folks..i know it's a quirky practice but jewish leaders are up in arms because the lds leaders are baptizing holocaust victims..what harm is it??
?hell jw's are preaching everyone will go up in flames no one believe that crap except jw but no one is up in arms, they know they walk a different step....the lds leaders agreed to halt baptisms specifically of jews holocaust victims in 2010 but they are at it again, baptizing jews.
this is funny as hell to me.
Not that I'm defending the Mormons, but facts can be helpful. If you read 1 Cor. 15:29—not in the NWT, you can perhaps see why the LDS people feel the way they do. As for Jews objecting, they might consider that the practice of ritualistically doing things for the dead went on in their own tradition too. At 2 Maccabees 12:39-45 Judas Maccabee atones for the sinful dead by sacrifice.
One cannot help but wonder if certain Jews of today are more upset by a group of professed Christians "invading" the Jewish sphere of something many Jews consider holy and thus exclusively their domain.
last night i had jw broadcasting on in the background while i was working, i like to keep up to date with their crap.
which is strange because when i actually was a jw i hated reading or watching their material.. anyway, on the streaming section, anthony morris comes on screen telling me that higher education is bad and "the better the university, the greater the danger".
i never would have believed it if i hadn't seen him say it myself.
Evidently this would never have been hammered on like it is now under GB 2 back when GB 1 was in charge. Fred Franz, Bert Schroeder, and Lloyd Barry had all studied at universities. Only now with the total ignoramuses completely at the helm have Tony Morris types been given free rein.
Of course, in antiquity there were no modern-type universities, but the fact is that the apostle Paul, who was used more mightily in writing NT books and distilling early Christian theology than anyone else, had the ancient equivalent of a college education. He studied under Gamaliel (Acts 22:3), who is portrayed positively in Acts 5, and the Roman official Festus accused Paul of too much learning (Acts 26:24). The style of his writings is certainly above others such as Matthew, Mark, or John.
Doubtless Tony has taken all this under consideration...
ray publisherer interviewed one-time bethelite peon "brock talon" about four years ago and i'm now reading talon's book journey to bethel.
for those of you who may not be jws (and even those who were and are), that journey provides a fascinating insight into the pecking order at "god's house"... at least how it was in the early 80s.
and it's a book even the rank-and-file faithful would find amusing.
For those who may not be aware, at this forum Brock Talon posted as LivingTheDream. That way you can look at his old posts if you wish, including his 25 "Memories," evidently some of the core of his book. He posted here from 6 to 3 years ago, when he stopped.

be determined to stick to jehovah’s organization and loyally support the leadership he provides—no matter what imperfections may surface.
They must really be getting worried. While they have always used the "imperfect men" excuse there seems to be a tinge of desperation to it now ...
Even if people have no exposure to apostate activism they are still waking up all on their own, WT has to be aware of this trend.
Spot on, sparrowdown!
I remember back in the mid-80s when there was the harsh crackdown in WT literature following the exit of RF and others from Brooklyn. One brother who was very experienced in the org said to me, "They are really running scared now." The same principle is at work again. As to your last question, surely there must further skeletons in the closet.
