One thing has changed re: org policy in recent years, and that may be having an effect in the brothers-in-the-Ukraine matter. Remember that some years ago the GB decided that alternative service was OK in lieu of actual militarily service. So how is that playing out here? Does anyone know? Can Witness men do some ancillary service that "indirectly" supports the Ukrainian military machine?

Thanks Mike for the post.
Excuse my ignorance, but what role is the elder now designated as the "auxiliary counselor"? That didn't exist when I was in. If there is an auxiliary counselor, then is there just a "counselor" who the auxiliary counselor is some sort of assistant to? Or is It just another illogical label he org has come up with?
Also, what are "S-147-22.09-E Bi experienced publishers"?

Thanks Atlantis for the fascinating post! Another look into the inner world the R&F know little about.
TBK,
It also sounds rather organized
Of course it's highly organized. Can you picture them doing anything at HQ that is not? After all, it's "God's organization, brother!"
Yeah, the request for contributions from ordinary Bethelites just shows how asking for money at every turn has become normal.

Watchtower vs Islam: Why the deafening silence?
by raymond frantz inwhy has the watchtower failed spectacularly to evangelize to the muslims?
considering the recent influx of muslim people in european countries you would think that some attempt from the religion that touts the are preaching the good news of the kingdom in all the inhabited earth would have been made.instead the only meaningful attempt dates back to 1953 ,almost 70 years ago!!!!

BB:
They were respectful and listened. Never found any interest in our message though.
and RF:
they seem to be all over the place and avoid critical thinking, like jws they are brainwashed by a more ancient cult
Spot on! I had many dealings with young Muslim men in the 1980s-2000s and found they do not really grasp any sort of theology. It was a foreign concept to them. Although Islam has a theology, it is out of the reach of their R&F. On the normal grassroots level their religion is exclusively ritual. You have to find an Islamic scholar to dialogue about theology, and that's quite rare.

Apostates apparently have their own terminology
by Vanderhoven7 ina dyed in the wool witness actually posted this as if non-witnesses invented unheard of terminology,.
"those who devote their life to criticize jehovah’s witnesses use a lot of very specific expressions and ideas common only to them:.
“8 old men in new york”,.

Excuse me, dyed in the wool Witness, whoever you are, but “overlapping generation” is right out of David Splane's mouth, and "theocratic strategy" is from Freddie Franz back in the 1950s publications. I remember how "avoid independent thinking" was bantered about in the WTS pubs plenty after the 1980 "apostasy" and after R. Franz's book came out.
They continue to live in their Shangri-la.

Watchtower lawyer fined for misleading the court
by Diogenesister inwatchtower lawyer david brumley has been fined for misleading the court during the discovery process of the montana case.
the result was another 17 months of the courts time and the plaintiff having to produce evidence that wtpa did have a pivotal role in congregational business, which brumley had denied hoping that the courts would take his word for it.
he will be personally responsible for reimbursing the costs accrued by the plaintiff, due to his misleading affidavit.. see mark o donnell's twitter statement here:https://twitter.com/mark_j_odonnell/status/1562205475374043136?t=emdh163jnfi8kb6zch-uga&s=19.

Good job, Earnest, in find the crux of matter in the verb tense used. This is also what the organization does in PR statements about CSA. They say "we do not [currently] hide perpetrators." They do not admit that they did so for decades in the past.
Now that a court has drawn attention to this matter, lawyers will pick up on this and use it in their ongoing cases. They will be careful to pay attention to the WTS's language more closely.

Thx Earnest for the booklet link. I can see why certain Muslims might find the booklet offensive. Hence the directive to destroy old copies and the issuance of a replacement brochure.
I'd be careful with the following, however,
There must be sufficient interest to warrant these translations
esp. given Geoffrey Jackson's bent on setting up unnecessary translation centres for Welsh when all the folks in Wales can read English just fine. I think you are are right in your application to the Muslim question, but the principle has limitations now.

R&R, thx for the post. FFG, spot on! There was an old QFR, say, 1950s or 60s, doubtless written by Fred Franz himself, in which he stated that "it would not be surprising" if in the new world, men would sport beards, just as in Bible times (sorry, can't give the exact ref.).
So these vids must contain NEW LIGHT that in the new order all men everywhere will be clean shaven and dress in 21st century clothing. How ludicrous! Likewise, FF was wrong about Hebrew, the "pure language," being spoken worldwide then. Isn't it funny that the producers of these vids go to such trouble such as using candlelight to show no electricity and yet have the vid otherwise so full of anachronisms?
