Caesar is forcing the WTS to do something "open and transparent." That would be something.

Apostate is an easy excuse
by Formerbrother init seems to me that if there is something that any jw doesnt want anybody to look into, then they can just say the one word apostate, and nobody wil look at it.. this is rather convenient.. what if it is the truth, still dont even look at it to find out?.
-
careful
Yep, that's the organization's plan. Label it "apostate" and everyone will ignore it. It's up to each individual to decide whether he or she will obey that command or look for truth independently. What will you do?

Padron Case Settled. What happens to the fine?
by Slidin Fast init seems that irwin zalkin has obtained undisclosed settlement in the case.
the $4000 a day fine then seems to be dead.
the downside?
-
careful
So may we assume that the undisclosed settlement must have exceeded the by now $1.5 million fine ($4000/day accruing for over a year now). Would it be safe to say that it was probably around $2 million or more, paid over by the org so that Zalkin would back down on his request for the secret documents and the fine would be dissolved?
It looks like this lawyer Zalkin has made a career of suing the org. over sexual abuse cases. All he's got to do now is repeat the process again and again in future cases and he can keep bilking millions from the org. They are really in a spot here.
What will happen when the average R&F Witness discovers that THIS is where the contributions are going?
Thanks for the update, Slidin Fast.

A new introduction written by a Trinitarian from the Watchman Foundation? I wonder what Ray Franz would have made of that.
Spot on. I doubt Ray would have liked that.

"Sidelined CO's"
by Gorbatchov ing's lovely and loyal to the organization mother (due to many reasons), gave an unexpected reaction when i asked "how is brother w. our favorite co and friend since her early youth years?
is he still alive?".
she reacted "he is still alive, but sidelined like the rest of the old gard.

It makes you wonder whether the purge of the old ones was for more than just not wanting to pay their medical bills. Maybe they got rid of those in advance who would most have objected to so many of the recent changes?

Can anyone name a single incident when bethel has fed the poor ever ?
by Chook incharity is lacking from the house of god.
i remember reading once about some young pioneer sisters who needed emergency accommodation and where turn away from brooklyn because they weren’t special pioneers.
charity begins at home..

I doubt this is what you are looking for, but once while I was pioneering and thus very poor, I visited Brooklyn Bethel and they fed me. It was my first dose of how crazy meals were there. Everybody had to wolf down the food and far more time was spent not eating (2 prayers, "discussion" of the daily text) than eating. I also once had a bro. living with me who had just left Bethel service. They guy would still gobble down his food at great speed and to him mealtimes were not a time to relax. He had no idea of the concept of enjoying food. It was truly sad.
I guess things have now changed in that regard, and that's good. For years it's been amazing to me how L-O-N-G it takes the WT leadership to learn something so obvious to others. They are especially so duhhh. Dump the pyramids, accept vaccinations, take certain scriptures at face value (Rom. 13:1, John 17:3), get rid of the crazy view of the ancient Hebrew verbal system (= proceeded to ___), accept alternative civilian civic service in lieu of military service, ENJOY A MEAL at headquarters, on and on the list can go. Who knows? Maybe one day they'll even admit that Jesus died on a cross or that the GB makes mistakes!
Wait a minute—am I dreaming?

Charges of child Sexual Abuse Against Cardinal George Pell Dropped by the Prosecution.
by smiddy3 intoday it was announced after so many months?
/ years ?
that the allegations against cardinal george pell of child sexual abuse has been dropped by the prosecution.

According to this article, just one charge has been dropped because a witness died, but the Cardinal still "faces a crucial four-week hearing starting in Melbourne in Monday to determine whether he stands trial." So it's not over yet.

by LevelThePlayingField inso i have been awake since about this time in 2013, so about 5 years.
and the craziest thing about it is that now, no one, and i mean no one know's i am an apostate.
meaning, that i don't believe the jw minds set/beliefs at all, and no one knows it.

DOC:
I know of an individual who was tracked down by doing this. An IT savvy Elder in his Cong compared IP addresses from the "apostate emails" to the IP addresses of everyone in the Cong who had sent him emails. BINGO! Now DFd.
Too bad the poor chap didn't use a proxy or tor, or better yet, some IP addy that could be tracked back to Bethel!
