"WHY....WON'T....YOU......JUST.....BE....STUPID......AND.......OBEY?????????????"
I haven't had such a good time as listening to that in a while. Oh god, instant classic!
How dare you turn away from Jesus teachings about 607!

well folks, this is my big number 500 post.
yeah, i know it's not 10,000 but who's counting?
fist of all, i'd like to put out a list of thank yous to some of my favorite posters.
I just hit 500.
I should start a topic some time.
This board has been great for me. I am much more comfortable with my ex-jw self. I read a lot of the doctrinal threads but never comment on them simply because that is not something that I want to argue about, I'm over all that(not that I ever really argue anything else).
Thanks all!!!
gold baby gold!!!
i'm listening to the recordings now are they are just gold!!
omg!!
Hurry up and put that audio up!!! CHOP CHOP!!!
so, i received an automatic email this morning from a jw dating site i had put a profile on while i was still in.lol i was about to delete it...but then curiosity got a hold of me.
(they even gave me back to password i had completly forgot.
)lol so i logged on, checked out my profile...was very surprised that no where did i mention the name jehovah (like everyone did).
Ooohhh...we got some winners there!
i was just wondering if we have an history fanatics on this forum.... i am personally into the napoleanic wars, american civil war, wwi, and wwii.
if anyone is into history whats your favorite time era??
war??
Not a fanatic but I like ancient world history. I guess I have the WTBTS to thank for it as I am aware of their version of history and like to read about conflicting events that are backed up by actual facts.
i have never yet missed the memorial.
i've been considered "inactive" for years, and so has my husband.
about the only thing we attend is the memorial (and that's because of family).
I don't have any solutions. I just wanted to point out that this is such a prime example how this religion presents the oddest, outlandish problems for people.
I would say don't bring it up, go to the other event(have fun, enjoy)and deal with the consequences later.
my friend was counseled for having a bad attitude because he wore white socks w/ his suit.
This one elder got furious at me when he found out I was taking a life drawing class(naked people). Most of the time the model was a guy that looked like OpenFireGlass, but in this one elder was so convinced that I must be going home and whacking it thinking about this guy that he nearly blew a fuse. And here I always thought it was a little weird that all the teenage girls in the congregation would be over at his house taking showers with his daughters.
do you think a jw man or woman would make a better spouse for someone compared to a "wordly" person?
not that many jws would want to marry non jws but it would be interesting to discuss such an issue to see what comes up.
some may argue that a jw spouse is more likely to be loyal and gentle but there are also many pitfalls with jws.
Not a chance that I would be involved with a witness in "good standing."
Now corrupting one out on the fringe.......
i've got $500.00 on taylor hicks to win american idol.
at 10 to one odds ( pinnacle sports ) !
normally i'm not a gambling man.
I was hoping that Taylor would have at least been in the bottom three after that lousy perfomance.
Katherine all the way(because she's hot).
i hate both terms to describe ex-jws.
i know most people say "apostate" when they refer to an ex-jw that is an opposer now but some will say "so and so" is an "evil slave" now.
evil slave sounds so "boogie man under the bed" that i just laugh when i hear the term.
I like the term "evil". In old issues of the X-men comic-book, the villians called themselves "The Botherhood of Evil Mutants" instead of in the movie where they were "The Brotherhood of Mutants". There is a certain kitschiness/camp in calling yourself,or being called evil that I like.
