they announced last week that the new atanta assembly hall has thus far raised 3.4 million dollars.

my local told that will become the society's come may 1. i wonder how that will go over with the ones who have been contributing to this fund..

I just finished up a psychology class about behavior. This is doomed to fail. People will catch on fast that their donations that used to have a tangible benefit to them will no longer. They will still donate because that gives them a good feeling but they won't be giving as much. Now, maybe if the higher ups in the org had any sort of that "worldly education", they might have known that.

Mom is coming over tomorrow. What should I ask?

my mother is visiting us again tomorrow, only 5 weeks since her last visit.

things seem to be going pretty well with her, and the kids are enjoying having grandma back in our routine.

she is retiring at the end of may (age 65), so she promises that this is going to mean more time with family.

Are we all actually "bad / evil / immoral" after leaving the faith?

so recently there have been several posts with references to talks and articles that imply the following:.

most of those who learn ttatt or fade from the "truth", are actually practicers of bad things, eg immorality, hence that is why 'we' now find fault with the org?.

i find this so offensive that they imply such.

When you aren't constantly bashed with being told what a sinner you are, you really don't think about it. I really don't consider myself a sinner at all.

I can't remember who said it but there was a big wig that said something like, "If we(wtbts) ever have to ask for money it shows that we don't have gods approval and we should just pack it in."

If you were to dig that up and use that in your comment of why you're not going to the Baptist church...

Anybody have experience selling on Ebay or Amazon?

there are a few collectibles i am wanting to sell.

my concern is that if i accept payment w/ credit card, etc, that i ship the item and they either open it (destroying the value), or just lie about not getting it, or any other thing to cause ebay/amazon to chargeback.

i was wondering if anybody sells on them is there a protection for sellers and how often does that type of thing happen?

I've been seeling quite a bit of stuff over the last year on ebay.

I only ship to the U.S. unless someone contacts me from another country and asks to bid.

I only accept paypal.

Only one time did someone complain about a item and he sent it back (a $50 item so no big deal)

Watch what you put for shipping because shipping costs can kill you.

I will say ebay is quite different from when I used it a lot 6 years ago. It's now mostly a bunch of Buy It Now items that are priced four times what they should be.
