  How A Witness Might Respond to Doctrinal Errors

  hello people.

  i would appreciate your take on the following reasoning.. a witness when presented with some errors of wt doctrine such as 607bce for example could turn round and say, "well we might be wrong on this but this matter is not as bad as teaching that god burns sinners in a fiery hell forever like some religion of christendom do.

  i do not feel that chronology (or some other matter) affects my relationship with jehovah and his organization.

  The real problem is that no matter what they teach at any given time, you had better believe it, or suffer the consequences. When they change it, you had better go along with the program, or again, suffer the consequences. The real problem is the arrogance. They will never admit to being wrong, ever. If they are proven wrong, and have to change a teaching, it is either the fault of the rank and file for believing them too literally in the first place, or there's "new light". (a concept that has absolutely no basis in the Bible) It's a never ending shill game, and they are good at it. Times are changing, though, and they may not be able to talk themselves out of the negative publicity that is about to come out.

  Ibid is the abbreviation for Ibidem, which means in the same place.
  It's used in references so as not to have to list the same specific source again. Hope that helps.

  why have you only negative things too say, wee all now that it is a lot of positive things too say abaout jw, the only religion who say no to war, and give there lifes for it too.. the bibel say one peopel who come out from all this mess, and stad for the name of the ord, who else do this?.

  Unfortunately, you are looking at the world through watchtower colored glasses. Things are not as they appear. The watchtower is no better than any other religious organization, as you will find out soon enough, as the pedophilia issue and watchtower cover up airs.
  What you think you know about the world is fed to you by those who want you to follow them. Your opinions are shaped by information control. Most of us here have had the same experience, and then, the blinders came off.

  Stick around, you may find out that you have been grossly misinformed by those you trust the most. When that happens, there will be many here who show you love and support through that devastating experience.

  how did you feel when you first learn the real truth about jehovahs witnesses.. was it a relief did you feel excited about all the things you were going to do or try?.

  or did you feel absolutely gutted , years down the drain, no paradise you won't see your dead parents again?.

  did you initial feelings last or have they changed?.

  Reading the watchtowers' books from the beginning, showed me they are not who they claim to be. Why follow them? Truth doesn't change. If it has to change, then it wasn't true to begin with. If it wasn't true to begin with, then it didn't come from God.

  You know,
  I have read every book published by the watchtower. Yes, I had them all. The lack of Biblical insight on their part became obvious after that excercise. I have a suggestion for you. Read just the words of Jesus in the New Testament. Only the words that He Himself spoke. The truth is so simple. It is people with their own agenda that make it complicated. Try this excercise. You will be amazed.

  i grew up in the borg, and had my share of friendships.

  i've noticed something, though, since i've been out.. i have many more real friends than i ever did as a dub.

  I'm curious. I grew up in the borg, and had my share of friendships. I've noticed something, though, since I've been out.
  I have many more real friends than I ever did as a dub. I mean the kind of friends that you can trust and really open your heart to, without fear. I realized that I didn't have that at all as a dub. I thought I did back then, but the friends I had would gossip behind my back. I grew up thinking that was normal. I can't remember my parents or grandparents (all dubs) ever having friends they confided in. How sad!
  They were all well connected in the borg, and "brothers and sisters" would come and visit, but friendships didn't run deep. It feels so great to have close friends now. I think it's one of the best side effects of leaving the borg.

  I was wondering how many have made similar observations.
