  My daughter called last night. My grandson will be recognized at a reception at the White House as one of the top 200 middle school students in the U.S. He will tour Washington DC and have 1 on 1 sessions with members of congress. He will receive an award for outstanding academic achievement and leadership, presented by the President. He is 12. It's a program instituted by Eisenhauer (sp?) in the 50s, and every President since has hosted this event.

  Amazing....we are so proud of him! So glad my daughter is out of the borg...and he can persue his education and his dreams.... Imagine if we were all still in... He'd have to forego this amazing opportunity!

  It always amazes me how people who view themselves as tolerant, and enlightened can display such utter ignorance.

  When you make blanket statements degrading any group of people it is evidence of bigotry. You'll find good and bad in any group of people. If you believe the stereotypes, you've been sold a bill of goods.

  As my mom used to say, "you have a lot to learn."

  so... was it all just one clever marketing scam???

  i'm about to believe that this was the reaction the cartoon network was looking for... .

  if it was cartoon network is lucky nobody got killed while beantown was on lockdown...

  It was a completely idiotic stunt. Maybe there was some overreaction...but with the world the way it is, I'd much rather be safe than sorry. If it was just a harnless stunt, why didn't they notify authorities before they did it? I have absolutely no sympathy for the morons involved in this nonsense...all the way to the top decision makers. I think they should be locked up...so no one else gets a bright idea to copy their stunt. Boston is a nightmare to drive in on a good day. I know...I drive there all the time. Yesterday was beyond horrible.

  My Dad is on the list...Arvid Moody... it wasn't about the blood issue though...it was about organ transplants... He didn't have a kidney transplant because of the society's policy on organ transplants. They changed it 2 years after his death.

  or in service, or just by jws period... me, i was notorious for doodling in my literature.

  when i was about 12, i got caught drawing the led zeppelin logo in my bible by the meanest elder in the hall.

  my mother wouldn't let me out of the house for about 2 months!

  It wasn't me, but my x husband. He was giving a talk in the ms, and 3 of his friends in the back row were trying to make him crack up. They did the hear no evil....see no evil....speak no evil ...thing...so one had his hands over his ears, the next over his eyes and the third over his mouth. My x busted up, and the co turned around to see what was so funny. The one with his hands over his ears quickly put them down, as did the one with his hands over his mouth...but the one with his hands over his eyes didn't see the danger, and kept them there...co pulled them all out of the meeting....

  i just finished reading "my christian quest, from jehovah's witness to son of god", by ron frye.

  this is easily one of the best new books i've read in a while.

  ron was a pioneer, a special pioneer, and a circuit servant.
