Hi Seeker4,
It would be great to get the group together. I'm not in Florida...I'm back in New England to stay. Say hi to Lori for me!

i happened to see a card a few minutes ago from a jw i grew up with to another jw that we grew up with.
all of us are in our 50s now, and we've known each other since we were early teens.. the sister who wrote the card has pioneered for decades.
she's married, but decided to never have kids.

Yes...many times. The "happiest people in the world" sure don't seem happy. Just plodding along waiting for the big A....never living life or using thier talents. Armageddon is always just around the corner... All the things they gave up...education, children, careers...for what? Deep down they must know it's a sham..... What a colossal waste!
Jws seem much older than their years...carrying the weight of the world. My ex (still a dub) looks at least 10 years older than he is... That seems to be common from what I've seen. Since out, I feel much younger and more excited about life than I ever was as a JW.

are you saying that the experiences of unbaptised born-ins are of less importance than baptised born-ins and baptised walkins?.
yes thats what i'm saying.....oh boy.
wow, well tijkmo, i respect that youre brave for saying so and that's where that ends.
MrsJones5,
I agree with you....baptized or not, being born in and experiencing all the stuff jw kids go through in school makes your experience just as applicable as someone who was baptized. The pressure is the same...growing up in the borg is traumatic to any child, and it leaves scars for a lifetime.
My grandparents began associating in 1910. I was baptized at 8 years old. I wish I had not been baptized...it took me until the age of 38 to realize what you realized when you were young.

I was at my company Christmas party last Friday night. I was standing there talking to the HR manager when the spouse of one of our Reps came up. She had applied for a job with us, but apparently was turned down. She said there were no hard feelings...she received 3 rejections that week...and all had errors in it. She said to Peggy (our HR Manager) that Peggy's rejection only had 3 errors in it! Then she said...sorry, I can't help myself... I teach English... I guess we can be happy she doesn't teach manners! If she had ever hoped to work for this company, she can kiss that idea goodbye!

i do.... i have a weird sort of radar.... i'm out of my normal stomping grounds because i am helping to set up for our company christmas party.... i stopped for lunch because i am early...and at the restaurant a group walked in...3 women in heavy coats, all wearing skirts...and one guy dressed in a suit and tie.
one woman was older, one middle aged...both white...and one younger (early 20s) black woman.
the guy was mid 30s...could have been on the cover of a watchtower.

kingdom ministry for october under: how can we help?
..."when donations are earmarked specifically for a certain disasters, it is necessary in some countries to use such funds only for the purpose specified by the donor and within a certain period of time, whether the needs of out brothers have been cared for locally or not.
(is this true and if so, isn't that the whole point of donating to natural disaster victims?
It means they want the money, but do not want to have to account for how they use it.

how far from where you grew up do you live now?
did you leave to get away or to take ownership of your life and create a new destiny?
did you leave before or after you figured it out?.
Born in Boston... while I was a dub I lived in New England, California & Florida. I'm back in Massachusetts now, about 15 miles from where I grew up. I'm a New Englander at heart... no place else felt like home. I very rarely run into any jws... Life is great...
