Actually, looking at the people that grew up with me in my congo, I can only think of one other person aside from me that doesn't go anymore, maybe two, but that leaves about 90% still there, and most of them are into their 20s now.

Hi Cranwood, welcome, I'm new here myself, but I've already read so many interesting and eye opening posts by people on the board. So, come in, relax and take a look around.

Jordan,
Shame on you for being a bad boy.
I know. I'm a bad person. But I'm so good at it.
Speeding in a school area is wrong, dangerous and irresponsible, but again, I'll admit I have been known to speed at other times. However mobile phone use is so out of the question for me, I won't even use a hands free kit. Apart from it being against the law over here, I don't fully believe I'll have control over my vehicle with a phone in my hand.

I will admit I'm not against flipping the bird to somebody that cuts me up when I'm driving, I don't usually care whether it's a man or a woman, chances are they'll evoke the same response from me.

Raising money for a new KH
by TopHat insome time ago our kh became to small for 3 congregations so money was raised to find land to build a new kh to acommodate all of us.
the money raised from the jw members and the sale of the old kh would pay for what was needed.
well, the brothers searched and searched and couldn't find land anywhere so they claimed.

Yeah, the organisation will get the insurance money and probably rely primarily on "donations" to fund the halls being rebuilt.

Total immersion - Baptism
by pratt1 in.
did you or anyone you know needed to be dunked more than once because their body wasn't fully imersed.. my cousin needed to be dunked 4 times unitl he was finally fully immersed on the 5th try.. he was humilated and left the dubs about 6 months later.. everyone gossiped it was because he hadn't fully dedicated himself to jehovah on his baptism day.. the truth was, he is very tall and the pool was extremely shallow.

My cousin was very tall, and she had that same issue, although hers was on the 3rd attempt. To my knowledge, she's still in the Org today...

Yup, Starbucks offers Free Wireless Internet, you wouldn't believe how much time we waste there simply because we can.

Other Than D'Fing or Disassociating, How Did You Get JWs To Leave U Alone?
by minimus inhow do you keep them from bothering you?
-
Jordan
Threaten to hurt one of them. I said to one of the ministerial servants that was bothering me while I was at work "Y'see that guy over there" I pointed to my rather large colleague "Well, he's a black belt and I will get him to throw you out of here arse first, if you don't leave me alone" Next thing I know they cross the street to avoid me when they see me coming. Personal vendetta against you
by pratt1 in.
were there any elders, co's or any one else in a postion of importance that had a personal issue with you that clouded their judgement?.
how did you handle it?

I don't think me in particular, but I think my entire family have been badly treated and victimised by the elders, I honestly think there was something they were scared about with my family, I don't know, maybe something one of us knew about one of them.
