I halfway wondered if it was staged, but the way the woman resorts to cursing and talking about hell, plus the way the guy completely loses it, made me think it was real. I know personally that a lot of jws will talk about hell if they get mad enough. Saying "you're going to be unconscious just like sleep" just doesn't cut it if you're angry. I also have said many times that jw males have huge amounts of pent-up anger, and that guy definitely fits the bill.

WT desparate: Aug 15 WT- In Our Next Issue: When A Loved One Leaves Jehovah

it may even be a wt study article.. in the august 15 watchtower, the box "in our next issue" has three forthcoming articles, and one of them is "when a loved one leaves jehovah".
of interest, it's not when a loved one leaves the society, it's jehovah.. will keep you posted.

This is very upsetting. There are so many inactive ones who love their parents and want them to see the light. Instead, they are reassured by the org that it is ok to cut us off. In my little circle of friends and associates, this is happening to several people. Most of the parents know each other, and thus get to provide each other with bs assurances that they are doing the right thing. Even the parents of my friend who committed suicide have convinced themselves that he turned his back on "Jehovah" by refusing "help" from the elders.

It's like I keep telling my family - The people who followed the society's words the closest got screwed. The people who paid less attention to what was being said about 1975 came away from it in better shape.
What lesson am I to learn other than to realize that I am better off trusting my own judgment than following the whims of the governing body?

What's the oddest thing you have eaten?
by PopeOfEruke inhey i was on holiday last week and we went to a sea-side night market and there was a food stand called "roadkill restaurant".
the motto was "you kill it, we grill it".
charming place.. they had crocodile, buffalo, camel, and kangaroo and emu kebabs.

well let's see i'm 24yrs old and since i was 5 i've been taught ''the truth'' i remember going to the hall when i was a little girl with my grandmother i attended did the bible study and i learned a lot and i'm greatfull even though i'am no longer in the religion i grew up like everyone else saw and learned a lot of other things of this world none which have made me belive anything i have found myself asking lately what is happening with this world?
why doesn't doesn't jehovah do something and stop the pain for everyone?

Don was our D.O. here in Phoenix a couple/few years ago. At the time I was active and he intrigued me because of his perpetual single status. I was told that long ago he dated that pretty woman from Laugh In, I think her name was Theresa Hayes. His way of sing-songing almost every line of his talks used to make me want to scream.

YOUR LAST MEETING.........................
by vitty in........................at my last meeting, the elder was talking about 1975 and said "it never happened, it is appostates using a time when (some) brothers took the info in the wt wrong"...................i just blinked and finally woke up.. i had been on this site lurking for a couple of weeks, and realized thing werent right, but to have some creep say on the platform " it didnt happen"............when this ruined my and my siblings childhood, just made me snap.
on the way home, i told my hubby "that was the last meeting im going to"................boy was he pleased.. .
so if you didnt get df ......................what happened at your last meeting.?.

amen, tetra-god.
My last meeting - I had not been attending for awhile but I decided to go because my father-in-law had the public talk. I showed up with a big goatee and a nice suit. I had to sit in my truck trying to get my breathing under control so I could walk in without looking like a wreck. I barely made it through the talk and left and never went back. It was like a huge dose of all the bad feelings I had been enduring there for years.
