  Eye opening certainly. i remember being at the meetings about 10 years ago (i was only about 12 or 13 at the time) and hearing the gasp of the 'brother and sisters' when the elder on the platform was telling us how someone had done over a 100 hours a month in the ministry. at the time i was impressed as i didnt know any better now i can see through the cock and bull nonsense.

  since the jehovah's witness organization currently rejects most of the teachings of its founder charles taze russell and since they also reject "judge" joseph franklin rutherford, who succeeded russell as president from 1916 - 1942, how can we be sure that in 25 more years, jehovah's witnesses won't also reject the current president, milton g. henschel (1992 - present), as they did russell and rutherford?

  Why would God give mankind the Bible centuries ago and yet they would have to wait until the 1870s before they had someone to begin to help them understand it? Where and what was the Holy Spirit supposed to be doing during the interim?

  Exactly. russel started zions watchtower in 1879 to promote his doctrines. people were drawn to russells sensational end time predictions and the organization grew.
