i have noticed several times when you refer to americans you use the phrase 'merkins'.
now as far as slurs go that one is pretty lame, really i have lived here all my life (32 years) and i have never heard any american talk like that.
It's only as serious as the reader makes it, Wendy. Verbal give and take is entertaining if the giver is sufficiently prepared to take, and goes at it with the right perspective. The fundamental principle of Aikido works as well in verbal sparring as in physical: use your opponent's energy and momentum against him. Someone with an inflated ego or with self-esteem issues would be advised not to engage, however. Those are some of his opponent's best resources.

cute parody titles aside..... i, rochelle, am finally moving out of my parents' house in a couple of weeks.
i've found a wonderful college senior with an apartment to share (and it's just a stone's throw from ann arbor, my favorite place in the world), and i'm in a bit of a tizzy figuring out what to do, what to pack, what to leave, what to sell, when to do what, all that fun stuff.. my question is, should i sell my jw books on e-bay?
would anybody buy them?

No, that was not your initial statement. I did not speak of a person. I spoke of an activity. You did mention people, true, but only after your statements which prompted my post. Let's look again. You said:

Note that you specifically address your support of "an arrangement." It is while speaking of this "arrangement" that you make your claim about good and bad, using the term "nothing" rather than "nobody." Yes, you do attempt to segue by mental sleight-of-hand from one subject to another by immediately bringing up people:

it's been a long time since i've visited this site.
the last time that i was here i was not allowed to participate in this forums discussions for as it was explained to me, "you dont share in our beliefs, therefore your comments, ideas, and expressions would cause conflict, and disunity among those of us who do share in the truth.
" the day i recieved the denial, i broke down in tears and prayed that jesus christ would bring down the walls of hatred and mistrust among those here and that he would allow me the blessed opportunity to some day share the joy that i have found in him.

i dont know if anyone else here has read this weeks (4/16/01) copy of newsweek.
there is a major article on the growth of christianity in south america, asia and in particular africa.
many of the christian sects bear little resemblance to conservative western churches but are very evangelical, charismatic with often a blend of local spiritual beliefs added to traditional christian dogma and centered around a local spiritual leader.
It's also noteworthy that the WBTS for years highlighted dwindling membership in churches as "drying up of the waters" in fulfillment of the antitype of Babylon's overthrow by Jesus as the greater Cyrus. Cyrus supposedly conquered Babylon by damming the river and sneaking into Babylon via the empty riverbeds.
