  What is a Gargoyl?

  after reading zazu pitts post and that old bossart hotel which was bought by the jw.

  still had the gargolys on its roof top amazed me, since i thougt that gargoyls were domonic stautes.

  Hi, DreamMaster.

  Nobody on this board is going to be able to help you with this. We don't have enough background, and we can't get it by chatting about it this way, and it's questionable whether any of us could give you valuable guidance as to what to do even if we did have the background. We can't speak to your wife to hear her side of it so as to get an unbiased and well-rounded view of the whole situation.

  There is definitely something wrong in your marriage. As you noted, it is probably on the line over this. If you want to save it, then hurry to a marriage counselor. Don't go to a minister or anybody connected with a religion. Just get a secular, trained, educated marriage counselor. Try to get your wife to see this person, too.

  Hope it turns out best for both of you.

  I saw on the news last night that two people had died thus far from the rains. People were being rescued by helicopter from the roofs of houses. They showed films of car roofs sticking up out of the water.

  New Congregation

  ok. we ran a thread recently about starting a new religion.. how about we start an international congregation here on the board.. we need 7 elders.

  7 being a sign of perfection..er....yeah.. we need ministerial servants.. appointments will be general concensus..er holy spirit i mean.. p.o.

  As the newly appointed fiscal secretary, I'm pleased to propose the establishment of an education fund, to provide a means of obtaining a college education to those who passed the opportunity up in their youth because they were told that the end was coming any minute now, or that they would be investing in "this old dying wicked system" by educating themselves in its knowledge.

  I propose that the monies to establish and support this fund be obtained from those formerly sent to the WBTS as usury for Kingdom Hall loans, for overpriced literature, and for donations "to support the kingdom work." I feel that "the kingdom work" will be much better supported by the educating and enabling of these who gave everything for their religion and received nothing back.

  McVeigh vs Death Penalty

  i am a policitcal conservative, at least a fiscal conservative and sociel moderate.

  i support the death penalty, but i agree that our judicial system needs to overhaul how wwe treat criminals to achieve better rehabilitation results.

  and of course, withhold the death penalty in cases where there could be doubt.. in mcveigh's case, i believe that he deserves the death penalty.

  Do I see a similarity in the formatting? Um... no. I hate to think, though, that somebody would connect me with a piece of writing on the internet because it was formatted the same as something I authored. I use HTML, which is pretty severely limited in what you can do with it; so does pretty much everybody else.

  Are you referring to the use of the special font to display mathematical symbols? I think, AG, that anyone doing math at that level is going to avail themselves of a font that has characters they need in order to display their calculations.

  Honestly, I don't have any idea what you're trying to show here. I don't know the history, and I can't make the guess. Could you just lay it all out for me?

  I suggest that we use the ladies in offices of oversight. Then the scripture will really be true: "If any man is reaching out for an office of oversight, he is desirous of a fine thing."

  I, on the other hand, am willing to handle the finances. I would also like to be responsible for the literature, so that the society's expressed wishes can be applied, i.e., literature will truly be on a donation basis... everything, bound volumes, CDs, movies, you name it.

  But I'm not proud... I can handle the mikes, if that is where my services are needed. Just, you'll need to accept the job the way I do it. I'll put the mikes where I think is best.

  i called my step (father), the elder who did the "deed" all those years ago and then my mom turns around two yrs later and marries him, after she gets involved with a married elder (who divorced his then wife and then married my mom,(bwahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh) and sleeps with the (enemy) every night.

  To the extent that I'm able to be, yes. I can't control events outside myself that might affect me, but I control my thinking, emotions and behavior. I control my responses to outside events affecting me. I'm not a puppet dancing on emotional strings pulled by murderous powermongers.

  I never saw you jumping in with requests like this back when Scally was notorious for standing in the window nude while the witnesses walked up. I guess it's just a matter what you're expecting to see.
