Every blue moon, I did.
While I was attending, no one had better meeting attendance than I did. When I say no one, I really mean no one. I even had better attendance than the COs and DOs. I rarely get sick, and only missed a few times because of my business.
When they got to be stressful due to previously mentioned things, I started to dread meetings, and left as soon as the "n" sound from "Amen" was heard. Hell, I joked with my uncle that if I could have my tires screeching before the sound even finished, I would.

What JW Things or Beliefs Never Really Interested You?
by minimus ini never cared about chronology.
i was never interested in stupid convoluted explanations about dates or how a scripture in revelation applied to the anointed.
it was always bs to me.

I was sincerely interested in finding out the truth about things (haha!), but I didn't like to go over the same things constantly.

Protecting Your Music from Brother Hounder
by WTWizard inis there a way you can have that dirty recording and not be detected?.
you need to look closely to see them.
and often, they would wear out and be illegible.

Both of my old friends that went to Bethel had "evil" music tastes.
"Evil" to be read as Classic rock, punk, grunge, etc.
They hid their music from the assigned Bethel snitches (locked trunk, etc.), but still ended up getting hassled.
Glad I don't bother with that shit anymore. -

Can a JW be a Notary Public?
by Wordly Andre ini am not sure how it is in other states but in california you have to raise your right hand and take the oath of office, in that oath you swear or affirm to the best of your ability, preserve, protect and defend the constitution of the united states and the laws of the united states so help me god.
is there a conflict for jw's on this?
jw do not serve in public offices, a notary by law is a public office, due to the fact that you swear to protect and defend the constitution you are saying that you are allies with the united states.

The Society has quite a few attorneys, and they are all notaries.

I have always admired Randi's work.
His foundation puts up one million dollars as a prize for anyone proving paranormal power.

meditation: your thoughts? :)
by DeusMauzzim inthe wtbts always has meditation as a topic on conventions.
they always state that eastern meditation makes the mind "blank", so this is a no no.. of course we know that it is actually the convention that makes the mind blank :).
so what are your thoughts on meditation now?.
-
MadTiger
I have come to find out that the JW leadership idea of meditation is very simplistic.
Your mind is "blank" so that you can place what you want to focus on in there.
