  whenever i saw a new jw calendar, i said to myself, it's not for this year....... whenever i heard the brothers talking about an assembly next year on a certain date, i said to myself, it's not for this year....... it's funny how armageddon is supposed to be close, but it's never for this year...... .

  People choose to get closer to God or not, and if not then you don't "die" as the JW's say... We are all eternal beings! Do you want to spend eternity away from him? I don't!

  Biddie, Aren't there people in history past and even today who never had a chance to learn about who God is, let alone make a choice to serve or love God. Where do these lost souls go when they die?

  Anybody here who still has faith in God and belief in the Bible?

  there seems to be a lot of folks here who are bitter and want nothing to do with organized religion (understandable!

  ) or the belief in a god who cares about us, and has a "plan".or even anyone who has actually read and studied the bible, and understands what's going on it it.

  so many just take stuff out of context looking for "mistakes" and loopholes.

  I would say that most of those who understand the Bible and have gained insights that go far beyond JW teachings are a little skittish of stating their insights on a forum like this. There is a simple reason for this, but I would rather discuss it with you by PM.

  this is a movement which has been growing slowly but steadily among young people in spanish and portuguese speaking congregations in the united states.

  basically it is a movement created by winesses who believe in much of the teachings of the organization, but do not believe in the authority of the wts, or any other body.

  they also do not believe in disfellowshiping, and believe that every decision should be a personal conscience matter.

  The reason for posting is just to inform about its existance, and just to let people know that it can be done within their own congregations. I understand the skeptisizm, and it really doesnt matter. Im not claiming this is a huge movement, and its actually impossible for me or anybody to know how large it or small it is, but i can tell you that in my congregation their are 4 others who i speak to about this. And I know of 8 or 9 congregations in my area (I live in an area with MANY hispanic congregations) in which their are people who agree with this movement.

  does anyone realy know how many 144,000 are realy left?

  i have been talking to some friends of mine both in and out of the "cult".

  and the one thing that no one can come up with is how many of the socalled 144,000 are left, i would estamate there to be atleast 145,000 still kicking today.

  if any one out there know's of a number and not the number put in the watchtower, i mean realy do you belive all you read.

  When I joined over 20 years ago there were about 8 thousand plus.

  Today ?.........Theres about 8 thousand plus

  AND they are getting younger.....with the WTS blessing.

  I have a relative who belongs to the Medthodist chuch and when she learn that was no longer a Witness she said " I want you to know I have been praying for you for a long time, that your eyes would be open" I told her my eyes are open to all organised religion. Everyone religion is a tool of Satan as far as I am concerned" That is how I feel.
