From my observation: I have been to a few churches of different denominations and I know friends and family who belong to one church or another....I guess if you live in a blissful state and ignore what lies underneath, one can be happy with attending church and it's social gatherings..

I would have to say JWS. The ones who are actually practicing what is been taught by Jehovah.
D.
D, There is evidence to prove that the JWS does not practice what is written in the Bible, but instead practice what is written by the WTS and the GB.
I don't have to go into detail....you have seen the proof right here on the discussion board.

My protest is: And I haven't found one yet that doesn't ask for money in the name of God. With promises that your donation will be spent on spreading the word of God and so and so on. When in reality we really don't know what our donation is spent on in the church or any other religion. Unless of course you are the money handler.

Did that godsquad site insist on registration before they gave up their services? I see many sites do that, and sadly, I've given most of them up
The Godsquad link was one you gave,
- Try the inductive bible study method, taking a section of bible verse and applying it to your life, personally. http://www.godsquad.com/squadroom/discipleship/inductive.htm This will awaken your independent, critical thinking skills and help you establish your own foundation for faith.
so I clicked on it to see what they were preaching. The web site did not asked to resgister......I saw they also take donations of real property, hence the question I posed to you.

Is There Truly Any "Underground Reform" Going On?
by minimus innot an organized type, at least.
as an elder, i would try to bend the organization's rules so as to be more moderate and give the "sheep" a little more comfort.
but no elder or group of people could organize such a group and stay within the watchtower's (kingdom hall's) walls.

I haven't found any religious organization that is not corrupted in one way or another.

Let's play a game - Follow the WTS $$ trail
by watch the tower ina huge question that i have in the back of my mind regarding the wts is where all of the money ends up.
no one really has a conclusive answer to that.
i think it would reveal a lot if we were able to find out.. i know there have been various threads in the past where it revealed a clue here and a clue there.

So, the scope of this decision eventually covered all offerings received from the contribution boxes from the Kingdom Halls, which is what Jehovah’s Witnesses call their houses of worship, during the period from January 1, 1993 to August 31, 1996. After adding the penalties and interest, the total figure sought by the Ministry of Finance was in excess of 303 million francs or in excess of $50 million.
$50 million is hardly a "widows mite" as the WTS in France likes to compare themsleves!

What are JW's taught about friendships with worldlies?
by Worldly ini'm new to posting here, but i've been lurking for awhile trying to find out more about the jw life, as i have a dear friend who is a jw, but there are many things i don't understand about him, and how he treats our friendship.
i came right out and asked him once if it was true that he was not allowed to be friends with people outside of his religion, and he said "no, but we are encouraged to spend our time with "like-minded" people and that he had other friends besides me who weren't jw.
we met at work and seemed to be very close, but i've always felt some aloofness.

Or what portion does a faithful person have with an unbeliever? . . . For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said: ‘I shall reside among them and walk among them, and I shall be their God, and they will be my people.’ ‘"Therefore get out from among them, and separate yourselves," says Jehovah, "and quit touching the unclean thing,’" ‘"and I will take you in.’"
In this case the UNBELIEVER is the Watch Tower, the unclean thing and WE who believe should separate oursleves from them.
