yet another newbie
by walkaway inhello everyone, i am brand new, thought i would say hello.

Welcome, Walkaway
It was the greed of the WTS that first opened my eyes to what they really are. The WTS took money from the brothers and sisters in that they promised them a new KH and after a few months told the cong they could not find land but would use the money instead for the World Wide Work. No I had not not given much money for the new KH but there were brothers and sisters who gave all of their savings. I can never forget the greed of the WTS...I don't know why I kept on going to the meetings. I never gave them another donation after that.

WT,DEC 1 2005,PP22-23;IS THIS AN INACCURATE STATEMENT?
by badboy in.
weeks earlier, jews and proselytes from at least 15 regions of the roman empire had packed jerusalem to celebrate the passover.. on the next page,it seems to show arabia ,media, elam and parthenia as part of the roman empire.. i thought the romans never conquered arabia or persia.
am i right?.

all of these things should be understood to be limited to specific locality and not in fact to a global dimension. This was the "known" world to and for those Bible writers, they had no knowledge of the unknown parts of it or they would have included or dealt with such in their writing.
-Eduardo Leaton Jr., Esq.
No, the Bible writers didn't know, but God did, and didn't God inspire the writings?

It Seems That My Children Are Not Trained
by Gary1914 ini just returned home from the kingdom hall.
i am an elder.. after the meeting all the elders were called to the back room.
i thought this was an impromptu elders' meeting.

Hi Gary, you must be a young man to have so young a family.....I am sorry you were put under undue stress by the other Elders in your cong....Is it worth the stress you are going through to stay in? I would leave now before you and your family are subjected to much worse stress. Being young helps your recovery from leaving the cult of the WTS, to go much better than you think.

Ex-elders: did you ever confront anyone on FAKE HOURS
by Quotes ina few recent threads have been about faking hours in field service reports (for example, this one: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/72429/1.ashx).
a number of posters said they would never actually go in service, but still magically get in their hours each month.
my question to you ex-elders: did you ever confront someone on this?

When I was IN....and wasn't putting in even 1 hour a month....an Elder faked it for me. In all honestly...I told him I hadn't put in any hours, because I can't lie to Jehovah. I think he ask if I had talked to my Hubby about the truth and that was enough for 2 hours on the slip.

God's Organization.
by Blueblades init is evident that the only way any organization could be god's organization would be if god appointed it as such.
jehovah's witnesses believe that the watchtower society received that appointment in the spring of 1919 in fulfillment of the most important scripture in watchtower theology---matthew 24:45-47.. on the watchtower's official website under the heading, 'what jehovah's witnesses believe" they list forty of their teachings.
but their most important teaching, the only teaching that needs to be known------"the watchtower society is god's organization"---is not mentioned.. this from,"captives of a concept" page17.

*** w89 9/1 p. 19 Remaining Organized for Survival Into the Millennium *** Only Jehovah’s Witnesses, those of the anointed remnant and the "great crowd," as a united organization under the protection of the Supreme Organizer, have any Scriptural hope of surviving the impending end of this doomed system dominated by Satan the Devil. (Revelation 7:9-17; 2 Corinthians 4:4) They will make up the "flesh" that Jesus Christ said would be saved through the worst tribulation of all human history
Most Christian and non Christian religious organizations believe they are the one and only way, which is why I do not put my hope in any man-made religious organization.

Only one thing is for-sure in my world today!
LOW PRESSURE OVER WESTERN MD WILL MOVE EAST THIS MORNING TO
JUST SO. OF LONG ISLAND BY EARLY THIS AFTERNOON. THE SNOW WILL
MIX WITH OR CHANGE TO LIGHT FREEZING RAIN OR FREEZING DRIZZLE AS
THE PRECIPITATION BEGINS TO DIMINISH IN INTENSITY FROM WEST TO
EAST.
However, I do wish that my loveable pet dog will be resurrected when the day comes to resurrect the dead, great and small. -

Answer to Job (Is Yahweh a Narcissist?)

When I was still a dub...I had the same thoughts as Jung about God, Satan and Job exactly! I expressed my thoughts to a pioneer sister but didn't really get an answer. The book of Job just doesn't make sense for a loving God to let Satan goat him into hurting a faithful and loyal servant.
