that meeting will be interesting no doubt. let us know how it goes. Your wife should not be made to feel "bad" in any way. And your priority is with your wife - just like you've been doing.
Stick close to eachother. Talk to you wife and let her know how you feel about things. You never know, she may be having the same questions as you.
I think it's wonderful that you've never been afraid to question. But you hit the nail on the head.......the consequences of asking questions. That is the dilemma we have all faced here. It sounds like you are on the same path.......
-I look forward to hearing how this journey goes for you both.

WOW Mavie! that's a cool lady you got there! I got my belly button pierced recently and my first tattoo. I love them both. I've always wanted them, and I always thought it was pointless that I couldn't decide on something so simple.
Perhaps you need to approach this search together. I think given your wife's history with depression she may feel alienated from you if you start making decisions without her on things as big as the religious beliefs you've both always had. If I may be bold enough to say, I think it took a lot of courage for you to post here. I also hope you give your doubts or questions the time and research they deserve. don't be afraid to question things. Just do your homework.
best of luck in your searching and your journey. -

ya know mavie, many here have had the same "diagnosis" when they relieved themselves of the enormous burden of "duties" the society puts on people.
your wife may be on to something here! (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) -

A few questions for the JW folks monitoring the site...feel free to add...
by WLG ini cant help but wonder how it all works on the back end.
do you guys just kinda poke around looking for whats up with the evil apostates from time to time or is it a constant thing?
what i really wonder is how you rotate it around so none of the people checking on us get stumbled?

I've often wondered this stuff also WLG......
Maybe they "deprogram" the droids at the end of the day of surfing through the apostate underworld. You know the dudes that are assigned to search for threads like Richie's are totally these little, weasely, nudges that have to wipe off GB s**t from their noses each night. HA HA HA!!
I say we going trolling for TROLLS and whatever we turn up let's feed to the alligators! BWHAHAHAHAHA!!
But, yeah, how can you read this information with all the facts and still believe in the organization? -

*You can call me naive but I always assumed everything I heard in the meetings were true; Then one day thoughts started popping in my head like "What If god doesn't exist? if he does exist is he the jehovah I know?"*
Not naive at all!! You are using your good old noggin'!! I didn't let myself think for myself till I was 30 years old. Follow those questions, you will be very thankful you did.
I look forward to your future postings.... -

Where does the light shine brightest?
by JamesThomas inyou just know there's going to be trouble when there's a preface of apology to the many christians i'm about to insult.
i really don't mean to (honest t' god), but i can't express myself around it and still make sense.
the only reconciliation i can offer is just know that everything i say here can, to some degree -- be applied and insulting to jews and moslems as well.

* Perhaps it is an Infinity that the finite mind can not comprehend.*
This is my conclusion many days after thinking on these same thoughts. I have my ideas and beliefs and most days to be honest I wish my beliefs were as grand as Paradise, living forever, and having a resurrection. Ahhhh, the days of ignorant bliss. However, I am the first to admit that myself as a human being just MAY NOT be the most intelligent evolved being in the universe! (gasping heard here!) Why do we as humans think we are the most highly evolved species???? My finite mind may not be able to comprehend the infinity. Perhaps this is why man still asks the age old questions........ -

Welcome Mx!
What made you start to doubt the organization? I am very happy you came to these realizations while you are still young......
Start getting your plan in place so you can leave when you turn 18.

Well, my wife flipped out.
by rassillon ini hope i don't go too long with this.... last night my wife and i were talking about her day in service.
we talked about several things of little consequence and then i made mention of a point out of the reasoning book to underscore the importance of our need to be well versed in the facts that support our beliefs.
said point is on 416 of the rs book.

welcome rassillon.
I don't think Gumby meant anyting harsh in his comments. he truly does wish you the best. Maybe I can give you a different perspective. I WAS one of those wives whose husband started sounding "apostate." I flipped out initially also. One of the things that made me pause about "turning him in" was that he received good advice here and he backed off from me for awhile. He started focusing on me and us. He would be generous with his time and affection and did little things for me. That was new for him and it made me reassured of his love and affection regardless of what happened in the future. It truly was a HUGE reason why I listened to him later.
you can read my husbands threads and mine under the member names...... ithinkisee and freedomlover
Your wife may have a touchy tempermeant and no approach may work, but coming from another woman I would suggest backing off for awhile also. Although, it sounds like you were going to take your time with this stuff anyway.
best of luck to you. you may have some more "flipping out" conversations but you can always come and vent here and get good advice here.
