  Question about baptism

  hey people!

  i have read that baptism in jw is something very different than in christianity.

  so question... is jw baptism somewhat legally binding.

  What was the strangest or nicest experience you had at a door?

  i remember one lady who was so nice to us, she invited us into her foyer/porch area outside her front door where she had a huge owl that had come to hang out.

  it was amazing to be so close to it, and we forgot all about the magazine offer!

  Circuit Overseer Visit

  this week, my congregation has the privilege of the visit from the circuit overseer.. my mother took a day off work to go out.

  i put in for extra hours.. in the off chance we get wrapped up in discussion, what should i say?.

  there the "faithful and discreet slave" class, with jesus apostles taking the lead, began to feed the individuals in gods newly formed household of faith with spiritual food.

  Rooster, Rooster, Rooster...There is no scriptural evidence this is referring to a "class". And no scriptural evidence that "class" would be the governing body of the JWs.

  .....My late father was right !!

  he never really believed or took to heart the jw religion which i refuse to call the truth.. the years before we as a family were 'contacted' we were a normal working class family with a lot of love for each other......we were happy.

  i have few memories of those happy times, i was 7 when my mother decided to take on the religion.

  that in time would include all of us........2 sisters and a brother.

  Welcome Watchman, big hug of sympathy. One thing I have learned getting older is, older folks understand stuff that younger people don't. We finally see what our parents were talking about. As was stated before, he probably knew you'd get it "one day." It's part of the burden we take on as parents...

  how this would work on JW?

  if you would preach him simple and plain "your wt teaching is leading you to the hell where you will burn thernally even if you do not believe in hell?

  you do not believe that you have salvation, you have no guaranty of that, so you are not saved and never be!

  " this is simply with big dirty boots over their tomatos?

  The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. I think they already have enough fear in them, on every level. I think they need to hear about the love of Christ, of freedom in Christ.They are bound up and need to understand that those are burdens placed on them by man. Which one of us when we were a witness wouldn't have wanted to hear THAT good news!

  FORGET MY PARANOIA! I'M IN THE SHOW!!!!!!

  well, i been signed to a modeling agency since april of 05. besides your boring "stand here and look pretty" kind of jobs i still have wasn't finding any real work.

  but saturday i went to a go-see for some local designer who was looking for models to be in her next runway show.

  of course, i have absolutely no expierence in doing runway and i swear i have two left feet

  Congratulations! What a great opportunity. Do your best and enjoy it.

  I had a promising acting career and gave it up cause I felt guilty...my mother's comment was, "What if they ask you to play a prosititute?" Like I wouldn't have a choice what roles I wanted to play...it's just fear on their part. Your conscience should tell you if you are acting in a immodest way...there is an appropriate place for a bathing suit, and an inappropriate place (unless of course you ask a guy, and then they'll tell you there is no such thing!).
