Evolution or creation.....

i know what i was taught from the witnesses in the book evolution or creation,but is this an accurate portrayal of what evolutionists believe?

is it really that black or white?

evolution, meaning that god didn't have a plan, things just happened, or creation,god created adam, the first man?

God is just a myth that humans created to help us deal with the problem that started when we became conscious of death. Sorry searching4? (interesting how close your name is to the one I chose 10 years ago...), but you need to start facing what is real, and none of that has to do with the God of teh Bible.
It's time to grow up and face the future. There is no god. We're responsible for our own life.
How freeing and how scary I found that idea....

Searching4, may I ask then, what the heck you are searching for?

Just to throw some more into the mix. I know there is a God, cause he answers my prayers. I've seen undeniable evidence. (Sorry if you haven't) I've seen and experienced healings, provision and comfort. It wasn't just in my heart guys.

Like the only time we ever ran out of food, and had just prayed a really simple prayer, "Lord, you know we are out of food, and we rely on you for our provision, we could sure use some food....amen"....and my husband opened the door, and a lady was walking towards us, arms laden with white plastic bags full of food, asking if we could use some food. (I will add we did not look poor, or hungry as we were neither, just out of food and money at the moment!).I got a lots of stories.

I correspond with an athiest in Russia, of all places. He is a retired psychotherapist, and psychologist. Even he says they don't believe in the THEORY of evolution there. Why do you think it's called a theory. Even Darwin knew it had holes. It's for people who don't want to face the fact they are answerable to a Sentient Being.

If evolution, what really matters? We are animals evolving. The world is as it only can be.Who cares about the future? There is no need for right and wrong. But if you corner an evolutionist, he wants justice and mercy like everyone else.Why would you bother to even be on this site. You are simply evolving and there is no "seeking" baby, you're bound for the compost pile!

You can denigrate the true origen of the species all you want, talking down to folks who know their Creator, but in the end you are left with a dying earth and no hope. How's that working out for you?

i have only been here a couple of weeks, and while i find most of you to be kindhearted, understanding and supportive, i can't help but get the feeling that there are some of us who are not who they say they are.

i'm not trying to be presumptuous, but do you think some people pretend to be x-witnesses just to mess with us?

Sorry boys, I will have to disagree, just to keep things even here.

I gotta comment. Without getting into a wearisome debate, because let's face it, this is one thing that can't be proved scientifically, as no one was there to witness it first hand.And ultimately it has to be taken on faith either way you believe...

There are so many holes in the theory of Evolution it is basically a religion for scientists who won't consider a Creator. There is sooo much written on this. Although the theories (theologies) even differ between Bible believeing Christians, the concept of all "this" evolving over millions and millions of years (something no one has been able to prove oddly enough) really is at odds with the Bible.

So, do some research and be sure to look at both sides of the issue, before you let someone make up your mind for you .ish

Accident prone/Gremlins in the house -what is going on?

i was busy reading posts on the board just now when i noticed a strange noise.

i went into the kitchebn and the electric kettle i had put on to boil some 15 minutes earlier was still boiling and the whole kitchen filled with steam to the point some of the cupboards had started to blister and nothing was visible - it was like being on the yorkshire moors.

i can find no reason for this!

my last 2 posts have been so sad that i thought i would tell you about something that i remembered once when the jw"s came a calling.

i guess it would have been funny if it wasn't so darn embarassing!

when i was younger i was trying to 'get fit' and had taken to doing aerobics in my loungeroom.

Caz, you ought to send that into a ladies magazines (Redbook or McCalls or Woman's World) for the column on "Most embarrassing moments!" That is tooo funny! It would be hard to say who was more embarraassed though!

Email I received off mum

hey all, i usually pop into my folks once a week so that my son can see his grandparents.

anyway last week my dad asked if i wanted to go to a country show\fete with them on sat , so anyway a couple of days later i emailed my mum to see whether my fiance (non jw) could come too.. this is the email i received today.

as you are going to be busy over the next few weeks, we dont want to put added pressure on you, dont feel you have to come to the show.plus we have already explained the situation regarding mike we dont have anything against him personally, but the situation is difficult for us regards associating with him as your fiance because it would be viewed as our supporting your decision to marry out of the truth.

Aw Es that is so hurtful,
I am sure you'll miss your parents envolvement with your wedding, but it is probably for the best when you think about it. You should be thinking about you and your husband on that day, not all that other crap.
I imagine it won't be long after the wedding that they will accept him, as then it will be all over. And you know, if you think about it, you can understand. They think their relationship with God is at stake over these little points. Pity them Es, they are in bondage, and you got out.

Elder Abuse and Special Committees

i thought i would share an experience from the congregation i was assosiated with in utah.

about 17 years ago i caught my 15-year-old stepson molesting my 3-year-old daughter.

of course, the first action taken was to call the elders.

My heart breaks for you and I am enraged all at once! I don't know what I would have done had I found that out. Probably something pretty awful and off the wall. It is one of the awfulest things I can think of: the molesting of innocents.

Here's my input for what it is worth:

There is a difference between a young boy engaging in this and a grown man.So many of these guys had it done to them as a child, and just compulsively repeat the pattern. It is a horrible kind of sin, that brings shame, and that society thinks is the lowest of the low. A horrible burden to carry your whole life I am sure. A kid his age wasn't as responsible as a full grown man. (But he is responsible-just had no way of knowing how really really awful it was).) I don't think "allowing" masterbation would have kept this from happening. First cause he was probably doing that anyway, and secondly, if he knew that was verboten, surely he knew touching a child's private parts was wrong as well.

What I know is, that you have to first, forgive yourself. For what you may, or may not have done.Do the hard work that lady Lee has shared with you. It will help! Get professional help if you can.

Then, as a start,at least say the words that you forgive the boy .Forgiveness like love, is a decision you can make.You may not feel like it, but make the effort. The feelings may follow.And there may great freedom.

I tell you this with a true life story. A family member was continuously abused as a child by their Grandfather. So was his sister. As adults, they went to the grandfather's death bed, and she spit on him, and told him he would burn in hell (not JWS!) and she was glad he was dying and she would never, ever forgive him. Her brother said, what you did to us was wrong and sick and I have hated you for it, but I forgive you, cause if I don't, you win! You still have a hold over me, and I am free now, and you are going to die and answer for what you did! (On a side note, they both went and danced on his grave-honestly!) The sister ended up in and out of a mental institutions, the brother is happy and pretty well adjusted with a family of his own.This is not a made up story. He credits his mental health with being able to forgive the sick old man and leave him to God. And this guy was not a religious guy!

My point is, your forgiveness heals you.

I hope and pray the very best for you and your daughter. It is never to late to get help and healing!

hi, does anyone know if there has been anything in any watchtowers or other watchtower publications since june 1 2003 which shed any more light on the below?:.

Interesting, never read that before. How could they then say the nephilim had intercourse with humans...
I think if the UN gains enough power, and things continue to go the way they are now, and the way they have gone in other countries, they'll pretty much "attack" any Christian religion that doesn't play ball with them.
