by Kudra ini just moved up to oregon and am wondering if any of you fine lovelies are located up in this neck of the woods.. i have had a great time connecting with ex-jws in other places where i've lived so i'd like to throw a little line out to see who may be up for some hoots and hijinks (or just a cup of tea) in central oregon.. thanks!.

all I can say is "ugh". And that I sympathize... (my mom). I am sure your husband is an intelligent man given that you are with him but it is SO hard to break through that weird JW facade... blech.

Yes -Dagney, I will really miss the Tucson desert -but as others said on this thread- the high desert around Bend is beautiful too (though it was cooold today). I have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area.
PYRAMIDSCHEME- great! perhaps some time we could have a cup o joe? (if you guys would be interested in meeting up) :)
LowKeyLysmith -yeah -my friend here is always heading out to fish -in town and up the Deschutes. I love the trail running around here -lots of it -and right out of downtown which is *awesome*. I have not yet tried McMenamins (have heard great stuff about it tho!) but have been steadily working my way through the breweries here :-D

do they still teach that the first man and woman were created approximately 6,000 years ago?
have they made any comments on archeological findings that show paleo-indians living in the america's 10,000+ years ago?

Even Mormons, who as a whole seem to be "educated", have truly bizarre beliefs about human history. I think they believe that America was settled by the Jews (somehow ?), not via the Bering Strait by Asians.

Femine supplies advice help needed
by jws ini'm divorced and i have a daughter who is nearly 11. last year she watched a video in school covering upcoming body changes (which she already knew about).
but one suggestion they gave that i didn't think of was to go get femine supplies and be prepared for when the time comes.
i like being prepared ahead of time for emergencies.
