  I mean, if you want to stay up on neat stuff, just listen to NPR in the morning while you get ready for work- like right now, I am learning all about how drugs are priced and the interplay between drug companies, insurances and doctors. Very informative, in depth and you can *listen* to it. Do housework or whatever and kill two birds with one stone. The Awake...? blurgh.

  I just looked at the latest PDF of the Awake on the JW.org site. It is ok, about on par with like, Oprah Magazine or a "health" article you would read online. A few tidbits of interesting information but nothing deeper than that. Almost good enough for a doctor's waiting room or a bathroom magazine bin. But you can get much better information at a doctor's office wiating room- like if they have Smithsonian or whatever. Soo... I would guess Awake is good for ~5th graders.

  last friday, a woman i work with, who reminds me of scully from the x-files, asked me to hang out with her and her friends at a watering hole not that far from where we work.

  she and her friends get off roughly an hour before i get off, and considering the amount of work i had on my desk at the time, and the amount of time i wasted on here, i knew it'd would be a while before i caught up with them.

  so i told her i'll try, but i won't get off until roughly 6:30pm or later.

  Seeing a woman in a burqua really boils my blood. But I feel the exact same way when I see women giving "talks" at the Kingdom Hall sitting at the side table. Cause they are in no position to "teach before men". Cause they have a vagina and not a penis. WTF.

  Yeah, it is a "choice". I agree with Sphere, it was totally my "choice" to be all subservient in my actions towards men at the Kingdom Hall but REALLY? I mean REALLY? It was only because I was told this from birth or that somehow I believed some authority figure who told me that things that are acceptable for men are NOT acceptable for women. The whole inequality between the sexes SOLELY due to religion PISSES ME THE FUCK OFF.

  we've all known those fanatical witnesses who are guilty of pdf (public display of faith) and always have to make a big song and dance to the whole world and let everyone and their dog know they're a faithful witness of jay hoover!.

  1) when my mother first came in 'da troooof' this wacky, over zealous 'sister' was studying with her - you know the type.

  this woman was one of those not so subtle individuals who would always talk loud in conversation and say the name jehovah a million times even when the conversation could have been about basketball.

  Well- I wasn't present for this one but it fits the bill...

  This JW friend of mine was having trouble at his job- they were wanting him to work more than he wanted to (I *suppose* the work schedule was interfering with some assembly or service or something). So he was discussing things with his boss (he was ~30 at the time) and his boss wasn't budging on the time and ws not going to give into this JW guy's demands. So the conversation is getting more and more high-strung and finally my friend starts screeching, "This is just SATAN, SATAN, trying to keep me from serving Jehovah!!"

  I think the boss eventually was just like, "Whoah, ok dude, just take the time off."

  Seriously, W... T... F...

  I think another one of my friends may have been there to relate this "experience" back to me or perhaps the JW himself told us. I forget. But seriously, what a nut job.
