  Before getting married in a JW hall were you if you have had sex?

  just want to know if it is normal practice for the elder giving your wedding talk to ask you and your partner if youve had sex, about 1 week before youre due to get married?.

  Hm we were asked that and several other humiliating questions... regarding pleasuring each other with hands or mouth! I think you could've fried eggs on my face at that point

  Self Abuse

  something occurred to me while i was reading the promiscuous sex thread.

  the wt always refers to masturbation as self abuse.

  i googled it and came up with many sites that linked it to cutting oneself, but only a couple that linked those words to masturbation, one being a site about sda prophetess ellen white, and the other some religious site.. of course if you type in self pleasure then you get the masturbation links.

  I also deal with frequent feelings of self-loathing and I find them very hard to ignore. Most of the time I don't, and I give into them completely, doing everything I can to hurt myself along the way. I know it's not healthy but I don't feel like ignoring the feeling is healthy either. I'm very self-destructive

  I'm not a horrible person, I have friends and loved-ones who think I'm okay...and if they like me, then I SHOULD be able to like myself

  Sure there will be short-term abuse, but that's unlikely to last. Sure some will still be silly, but I suspect some will drop out of that practice

  yeah that's what everyone's hoping, it's just waiting to see how long this abuse lasts. Hopefully people will learn moderation when they realise they don't need to drink as much as they can in a short period of time, just wonder how long it'll take this fact to sink in?

  FlyingHighNow, is that really true? I'm never going to look at food ads the same (great dieting strategy I think)

  It's not Thanksgiving here either but I'm feeling sad too. Yesterday was the 2year anniversary of my sister-in-law's death, she died in her mid-twenties and it was a crushing blow to everyone. I'm more sad for my brother than anyone else but I know it affected everyone. I think when winter sets in and xmas approaches, feelings of missing someone are heightened, but it's definately time to remember exactly what you do have

  I've got to agree with katiekitten, the drinking culture over here can be really stupid and all these extended licencing laws are going to do, is leave the window of opportunity for fighting, vomiting, etc, even wider open. A lot of people are going to abuse this and the strain on hospital staff is going to be immense.

  Where's the logic? 'I know, we'll stop this binge-drinking culture by extending pub opening times...' Yeah it's just like the continent, ain't it?

  I kept my bible for the simple reason it's what my older brother travelled 350 miles to bring me (he's now out of the borg), it's more a symbol of a brothers love
