Yep. I reckon it was one of the greatest sporting moments in aust history.
Soccer in Australia was never that big, but that night the whole nation was behind the socceroos.
I was screaming so loud, drank so much, jumping up and down so many times it wasnt funny.

The game against the Uragays was the best game ive seen. I was there in the stadium and the fans were going bizirk! It was so loud. Cheering, yelling. You'd think you were in England or South america with the atmosphere that was produced that night.

I think alot of people are under estimating the socceroos talent.
We have a lot of players in elite european leagues. Australia wont win the world cup, But they sure will scare alot of the bigger and better oponents. I predict a semi final appearance for them.

Did anything violent happen at the KH or Bookstudy when you were a JW?
by booker-t ini will never forget when i was a jw and was attending the bookstudy on a mon night a man broke into the bookstudy which was in the elder's garage and pulled out a gun.
he shot the father of the jw teenage girl he was secretly dating.
apparently the girl's father had forbidden her to date this non-jw man in his 40's.

I remember a while back .. in western sydney.
Some one broke into the KH at nite, put a nail bomb under the speakers platform.
The bomb went off during the public talk. Heaps of people were injured, and i think some people even died.
The elders and pretty much everyone in the cong knew who did it, but couldnt pin on him. It was a husband of a sister in the cong.
Anyways, true to the Jdub spirit a new hall was built, security vamped up.

how do JW's handle being witnessed to by other religious evangelizers?
by limbogirl inrecently i was at my mother's house -- she is queen jw of her kh (i kid you not) -- when there was a knock on the door and what do you know...it was two young women from one of the local churches out inviting people to attend services.
my mother proceeded to seriously beat the sh*t out of them with her bible knowledge and confusing chronologies.
the two women didn't back down but they soon realized they were in way over their heads.

I wasnt there at the door, and dont know what was said between your mum and the two girls...
But keep in mind Jdubs getting battered, plastered with verbal assualt and sometimes physical abuse when they go preaching.
I dont think your mum 'having a go' at the girls did any harm. At least the the girls know how Jdubs feel like when going to someones door.

A woman!!!!!!!!
by Gill ini was speaking to my mother and was informed by her that in their congregation, in the leicester area, a woman does all the accounting and paperwork now.
this is a congregation with 6 elders and 7 mss.. is this normal, that a woman has to do the secretarial work?
what's the point of having a congregation secretary then?.

I agree. Its just amazing that all the reports of criminal activity involving ex Jdubs, how alot of the cases focuses on their bad experience as a jdub and how they were taken advantage of by the sect/cult.
It does create sympathy for the WTS. But sometimes the court buys the arguement and gives a 'softer' judgement.

lol, i remember seeing this on the news a while back.
Smart girl though...Blame everything on the WTS and get out of going to jail for fraud.
