Who says that the Christian God (and the subsequent Satan/demon construct) is the only explanation for supernatural phenomena? To me, a palace full of Olympian gods holding petty grudges and playing games makes more sense as to why the world is the way it is than does a single God who "is love" but doesn't seem to give a shit.

Who the $&% cares? Or rather, who in their right mind cares? Its very twisted to enjoy the "news" of someone with a clean image having an affair. If anything, people should just be sorry for his family and move on. You don't have to ingest everything the media presents.

And why is it anyone else's business? It's just pure sensationalist voyerism entertainment. Everyone wants to see that the rich and famous have problems just like them. Pretty sick and stupid.

"Is It Latter Than You Think" Article in Awake
by Leprechaun inmary christmas - article in the awake i think it was 1969 or1968 there is a picture of two passenger jets flying into the world trade center buildings, now, what do you think of that.
now, that was some thirty years in advance, and a little more than coincidence.
what the hells up with that folks?

Believe it or not, the World Trade Center was a popular icon after it was built, and appeared in many magazines and photographs. I bet you can even find a real photo of a plane flying over the towers!!! How prophetic!!111 can you show me the 5-dollar bill trick too?

Intellects do not believe in God
by garyneal inon our trip back home from the thanksgiving holiday spent at our home town my wife labeled me an intellect.
normally, i would've been flattered with the title but when she called me that she was referencing the bible verse matthew 11:25. this offended me to say the least.. she said that it was hard for people like me to have faith in something because i will always investigate it and make sure of it.
for example, if someone told me that the grass was green, she said i would not believe them and research grass and the color green to ensure that it really was.. i told her that this was absurd and that i see no reason to research whether or not the grass was green when i can see with my own eyes what color it is.

I think faith as a concept is becoming outdated, since it seems faith was used by past cultures to "fill in the gaps" of their understanding about the world. The more we learn about the universe and ourselves, the less faith we need to fill in those gaps. There are gaps remaining, of course, but not such huge gaps that our lives would be incomplete without applying faith on a day to day basis.
For example, there is never any need to have faith that grass is generally green, because grass is something we are so familiar with. God, on the other hand, is generally not some easily-definable concept, thus the need for faith when filling in that huge Gap.

AIDS Cure Goes Unnoticed
by metatron inhttp://www.baldwincountynow.com/articles/2009/05/28/local_news/doc4a1d63cb68531598814432.txt.
i heard about the scientific basis of this previously.
it is believed that many north europeans carry a mutation they got from their ancestors who survived the black death/bubonic plague - that also makes resistant to hiv infection.

Asperger's Syndrome
by Joshnaz inmy jw sister e-mailed me today, telling me she thinks her husband has asperger's syndrome.
she herself is bi-polar and has been diagnosed with post tramatic stress disorder.
i'm thinking jw's have alot of mental disorders, but i never heard of anyone with asperger's syndrome.

I grew up with someone that had it pretty severely. I've never felt there were an inordinate number of Aspergers in the Hall, not like CFS and MPD. Whitedove points out an important distinction: Aspergers is not an acquired syndrome or disorder.
