I had also heard somewhere in an interview with the guy that he had stolen money out of the contribution boxes to buy his first guitar. I don't know if its true or not... sounds a little legendish.

To all the faders who still go to meetings
by What-A-Coincidence into the ones who still must go for family sakes .... what feelings/thoughts go through you at the meetings???.
mine are:.
"damm, i wish my folks would have not been suckered in, i could be doing something purposeful.".

I always start out listening... until about 10 minutes into the meeting when I've already heard so many falsehoods that my brain no longer wants to take it in. So I end up thinking about what I'm going to do that, month, year, etc... hopefully get some productive meditation time out of it. And while I'm doing my own thinking, in the background I hear "blah blah blah blah blah" droning on and on and on. I figure I'm not the only one deliberately spacing out.

Why do women make up the majority?
by daniel-p ini want to pose what is to me an interesting question: .
why is there a preponderance of women in religion?
i think we all agree that females do make up the majority of pretty much every religion, including jw's, but why?

With the above stated, I think many of you need to stop watching so much TV, where stereotypes of men and women abound. It insults the intelligence I know you MUST have....

"Why women stay in many religions longer than man? In my own experience it is because most of them are much more faithful to the cause they chose than men, just like in a marriage men are more likely to go astray simply because they are lacking that particular dimension/virtue of sticking-to-itness."
Zagor, in order to defend what you see as an attack on women and why more of them seek solace in religion, you have fallen prey to supporting many stereotypes of men. My original question had absolutely no "inferred" meaning to it. I simply asked why it seems women are more prevalent in religion. It has nothing or little to do with intelegence, because we all know there is no difference in average intelegence between men and women. I had hoped we could all be adults about this, but it seems some just can't resist the urge to heap their own personal prejudicial baggage into the argument. -

Elder™ sighting at work

Serving in the congregation makes brothers easily timid in the face of defiance. Remember, he has already submitted his balls in a little paper bag in order to be where he is! -

For those of you waiting to tell your spouses about your "doubts"
by Nosferatu inthis post is for those who are wanting to fade, going through their "doubts" and wanting to tell their significant others about where they stand on the jw issue.. there is no doubt that the finest time in any male-female relationship is the dating stage.
the both of you are full of infatuation for each other, and the excitement of just being together puts you in a pleasant mood.. now, years later, you have settled down, have children, and have fallen into many routines.
it almost seems as if there's no time for the two of you to spend time with each other.. what i'm going to suggest is, before you tell your s/o how you're feeling about the "truth", try re-establishing those feelings that you once had before you take that major step.

SPECIFICALLY: Why Did They Quit Using The Pink Song Book?
by whyizit ini recently aquired an old pink wt song book (copyright 1966).
i remember reading that the wts went to a tan one and destroyed most of the pink ones, because the pink ones had too many of the old beliefs within it.
does anyone know specifically which songs went along with the old beliefs, how the belief was changed, and when?

daniel-p
I think it was the one song, I think #43, about bowing to the cross, drinking Jesus' blood, the 3 vaults of the pyramid of Giza... something like that.
